There’s nothing better than riding through the midst of financial turmoil with a large position in the weeks top performing financial instrument. Especially to call it out for the masses as a place of immunity and mass opportunity likened to that of its peers who traveled an identical path ($TWTR, $BABA, $SHAK).
The first couple weeks of this meltdown I did very little, having multiple positions work against me early on…but this turned out to be a great finish to the week, catching this move in $WING…as well as great moves in $AAPL, $SPLK, and $GOOGL.
I’m refreshing my watchlist today that we’ll partake in next week. Please leave any free ideas for me here in the comments.

All the usual suspects: $SCCO (or $JJC) for long term, possibly adding shares to my $Z position, but probably want this to shake out a bit, $TWI is at a critical spot and I may get back in here with a tight leash, and waiting patiently for a dip in either $HCN or $HT. Also, $WFM looks quite pretty.
Oh, and looking to lighten up into the weekend 🙂 Although given how expiry week has gone for the last several, I’m expecting we do the opposite and head into orbit next week.

Dude, look at TWTR, BABA and SHAK post IPO. The crowd was wedded to these names, and they continued to sink to take out IPO lows.

I owned YRCW some years back when they did a 1 for 330 reverse stock split. That’s why the chart shows it at $2000 a share 5 years ago.

Peter Schiff put out an expose basically whining that the markets just keep going higher. Sensing a lot of frustration among bears, but not total capitulation. I know I’m getting extremely frustrated as I tread water trying to time the collapse. I’m not going to sit here and whine about it though. These bears need to grow some balls and learn to make money both ways.
IYT-SPY hasn’t been this low since 2007. Either IYT is going to rip or SPY is going to tank. Long IYT, Short SPY should be a hell of a trade here for the next few months.

I think we’ve topped for the week here. Doubling down on index puts. Probably SPY 211 or 212s. At the very most I see SPY closing at 210 max. So there’s very little upside this week, IMO. Second half of July is notoriously bad too.
I stopped guessing the near term direction of the market years ago. Would rather focus on cheap stocks. Who the hell knows what’s gonna happen tomorrow?
