THE SECOND COMING OF VOLATILITY

Actually, I didn’t do anything here today. I picked up some shares of $JMEI and took a 5% stake in $VXX to get me into next week.

We’ve been discussing some little signs of market deterioration in the last two weeks and with the $NYMO at zero-ish, the next 50 $SPX points could easily be higher or lower from here. In other words, upside risk and downside risk is balanced.

There are 10 stocks I absolutely love here though. $AAPL, $PCLN, $NFLX, $FB, $CRM, $SPLK, $MA, $MS, $ATHM, and $TSLA lower.

If we resume trend come Monday, those are my favorites to dabble in next week.

Enjoy the holiday.

I bot some FB weekly calls. AAPL looks great too. Favorite short is NTES when it starts to show weakness.

Just to clear, you meant only TSLA short side, right ? I own AAPL FB for investment : ) Do you like FRSH ?

I meant I would buy TSLA a little lower.

FRSH looks a little overdone to me. How about DPZ?

Thanks! I will observe DPZ. I need/want some food/restaurant/grocery stock for long term. I can wait through summer/fall to get better entry.

You better see more than a buck over min wage raises coming. Whole paycheck needs more plebs not on EBT. But who knows. The rich may feed the homeless grass fed beef and antibiotic free milk.

Well Bchu , it’s pretty simple stuff as long as you have huge protection on(see my comment of 2:34 p.m. yesterday following FA’s “Divergence…” blog post ) for Monday .

If you didn’t get involved Fri assuming a real problem ahead , just like the last employment report and the next several employment reports….well Bchu …I really don’t think you or anyone that doesn’t at the very least have a hedge on for Monday probably should avoid the market for the next couple of years…it is going to be a very difficult market .

Seriously , have you thought about U.S. savings bonds ? Let me know if this is too complex .

Instead of finding longs, you folks should have been SHORTING like Chess!! See his blog for evidence. Big, nasty, gap down come Monday. It’s gonna be ugly for anyone holding long. Just sayin’

A gap down is on Monday is only a bad thing if you plan on selling on Monday. If you have an intermediate term investment horizon or longer, a gap down is only a problem if prices don’t go back up before you intend to sell.

Further, this market has been infinitely more interested in the exact timing of a minuscule change in interest rates which is surely going to plunge us all into another Great Depression, so one could make a compelling argument that the ultimate near term impact of a poor jobs number will be up.

But it’s always nice to see someone coming out of the wood work puffing their chest before anything has even traded yet. Just sayin’ (which is way worse than Ciao!)

You’re a fucking prick Jeff. Forget Chess, even though he is much more prudent than you in this tape. You’ve lost the trust of 95% of readers who now have blown up accounts.

Absolutely , a $VXX purchase is a great long weekend position . Who knows , how the market will react to today’s numbers .

Meanwhile , I think Emily wants to spend some quality time with you . I’m
visualizing a frolicking private early Sunday morning Easter egg hunt in your
        near future .

Went to cash 2 weeks ago and stopped trading. Went into $VXX at the close yesterday with almost half my trading account. Let the correction commence.

Gasman – I got busy at work & feel like I’ve been caught flat-footed by the $NBG. Wondering if you took the plunge? I’m not sure where to try to hop in. Just watching, but may regret it…
