I picked up my second half of GOGO stock here, into this weakness. Had it not been for the earnings confusion I’d be full position from lower.
Short term objective is $24.

lanforce and Sandwich made a couple of good replies to a jmbekd post in the Twitter Bear topic from yesterday about: KBH, FSLR, and X
I’m in all of those and just wanted to triple check that you guys recommend getting out of all of those Feb 22 call positions and saving the last little bit of premium on those options to fight another day.
My noob instincts look at the underlying stock prices and think “they aren’t that far from being in the money though…”
KBH 19$ calls
X 27$ calls
And yeah, FSLR doesn’t look even close to making it so that I’ll try to figure out how to minimize loss today I suppose. Also, CZR and YGE are too far off course it seems, should I be dumping those too?
Slowly learning, but I love posting and reading everything on here! I may have acutally “top ticked” my QIHU selling this morning at $4.10, but I stupidly sold TWTR yolos too early at a meager 40% gain (completely miscalculated sell price and the order went through as I was editing and resubmitting.)
You may have inadvertently got the BEST exit of the day on the TWTR YOLO.

Really struggled this go around with pricing in my limit sells, since I can’t be in front of the computer all of the time. I have no problems knowing where the underlying price goes, but I can’t seem to price the option the same way. Either option price gets to my price on the ask and it doesn’t fill (might be more of a volume issue on the option or my broker) or the option price doesn’t get to the price I have for the order, even though the underlying price is right where I thought it would go today. Suggestions?
contingent orders are the way to go if you can’t be “manning the station” all day long. you can use the underlying price as a trigger to do a market order sell on the option. Although i would only do this on options that have thin bid/ask spreads. otherwise you might get effed over.
it would be nice to set up a contingent order where you could have it automatically trigger a limit sell order on the option at the mid point of bid/ask (or slightly below to ensure execution). But i haven’t found a way to do that yet.

Finally closed out BKS for a 19% gain on the 16’s and breakeven on the 17’s. That’s a relief…great run in Feb for the save…wasn’t willing to ride this anymore into next week’s expiration.

Sold ARIA for almost a 4-bagger and sold CLDX for a little over a double. If I would’ve sold a couple weeks ago I’d have 2 6-baggers.
I will say this: if this “pull back” in the markets never happened, I bet I would’ve had at least a + 1000% on my CLDX calls. ARIA was a pop on the news and never again will I refuse a free gift.
With that said, I’m still a believer in leaving less on the table and letting winners ride.
if you haven’t picked a solar play, penty to choose from. scty has earnings the 24th, which I didn’t realize when I went long with march calls yesterday…so you might look elsewhere or use a shorter dated option unless you want to gamble earnings. relative strength goes to fslr today. both yge and jks put in nice runs when they run. best wishes, enjoy Vday and Monday.
Price action after earnings on the momentum stocks have been HORRIBLE this quarter. Hopefully solar can turn it around.

Same here. I was like, no bids… how the hell do I keep from getting exercised when these things are a couple of pennys in the money. Luckily some nickel bids came along.
I was lucky to get out at .08 a minute before close.

Looking at the IV on GOGO and it looks pretty good here
Help me figure out why GOGO drops 10% for not getting a contract from West Jet which only has 100 planes in it’s total fleet. Seems like a blessing in disguise for those of us that bought. I only took a small long position as I will be purchasing some calls on Tuesday being that their IV is the lowest it’s been in months. Also helps that the VIX is now in the 13’s
