ANGI up a couple points on the day. MOAR.
sell Yoku or hold? Price target is 35 but leaning towards locking in the gain.
CZR dump at close, sell or hold? 150% gains -> 50% gains
looks like maybe the EVP sold shares, might possibly explain some of it and then the rest maybe panic selling when that kicked in?
SECURITY…anybody jump on PANW today? I mentioned it with CUDA, but noticed CUDA had earnings this week. My CUDA calls held value while the stock dropped today. Meanwhile PANW up 5% after market on acquisition news. I hope this holds through tomorrow’s trade

On the topic of puts, my 1st puts of 2014 were yolo KNDI puts from last week, which paid handsomely today. Lesson learned, the next time a similar stock is up 100% in as little as 4 or 5 days, I will probably do the same.
75%…not 100%, either way, the move up blew my mind socks off, hence the puts.

lan, how do you calculate option price at target? Is it on one of OA’s crash course?
You can do it with the Greeks and an Excel spreadsheet (which is what I use IF I enter a trade). But for a ballpark estimate that is ALMOST as accurate (and takes seconds rather than minutes), use:

It will do the stock and option price lookup (you can change these manually) and shows you the option price, return, and sell instructions for any price on any given day. I’d pay $400 bucks a year for this free tool, but it is totally free.

warning: for all of you that chased CREE this morning that was a BAD TRADE. Keep that in mind. Profiting off of bad trading mechanics can really HURT you down the road.
if they got in while it was coiling this morning I think that would be fine. break of the 10day high around 63 likely triggered some buying…beyond that I agree it would be chasing. This could also fall under one time you break all the rules…I have a lamp that only works with the old incandescent bulbs…so I stocked up on them last night….won’t be able to buy them in future, so there’s a story to this pick.
I would like to hear OA’s opinion on this… i feel there are certain scenarios where it could ok to chase just as the breakout occurs. I’m no expert though!

after 9:45, the calls were already double the price from the original entry. So if you bought after 9:45, it’s a bad trade. The risk:reward profile is greatly skewed.

Ian, thanks for the heads up, but I don’t mind the risk here. The wrong trade is a close over $25. Once it it gets over $25, it’ll go to $27 in a day or two. Then you can think about another area for a put if that’s your thesis.
And my MU call just closed. With earnings tonight, IV was just too high for me to risk it. I’d rather watch it and learn, then be in it and freak.
