My original thesis on these social media stocks were that they were high beta names that money had rotated out of in October, that would make for great year end buy candidates. Using LNKD as my template, we wanted to buy these into the bear trap. On that entry, the stock exploded $25 points in three trading days. It hasn’t taken out that entry yet, which in my opinion still says the idea is right.
The same thing is looking possible here in FB, YELP, and even in some solar stocks. Investors have been forced to the point of capitulation today. If these stocks get back into their ranges, expect the fast swing up as originally planned. Use YELP or FB as the new template. YELP has more short interest.
Suicide longs I am contemplating here are Z and YGE.
And, no, I don’t want your opinion.

If I wasn’t overweight in solar and social I would be adding or adding to positions in GRPN (daily candle reversal), FSLR (bear trap, head and shoulders failure), SOL (still consolidating).
ain’t nobody tellin’ me so. I’m balls deep in social media. I’m still holding GRPN too….which if you take a look at the size the that tail on today’s candle, i think THAT is trap shutting.

OA, in all honesty, if you are serious abuot risk management and some premium salvation, should not these social media ideas be already exited (having in mind for example SPLK and GMCR experience)? Especially having regard to suggested entry points around 10% higher (YELP). After all, you advertize yourself for good entry points…
Maybe it is your period of misreading – it is not only about social media and solars, add here WLT or VMW as well.

the chart says SOL is done. I think JASO is still valid because I always saw that one as an upslopping channel, hence why i didn’t buy when it was above 12. Support is currently at $8.50 and rising. FSLR is ok as long as 57.50ish holds
