If you want portfolio immunity from the stock market, trade the stock market as if it were a market of stocks.
Look for non-correlated instruments. Focus on stocks that are behaving or performing differently from the SPY. Developing that skill set will make you a better stock picker.
It’s cool that we’ve now seen the Dow down 7 of the last 8, and I am still happy to be long.

Based on option open interest, fun divergance of opinion on CTSH with the shorts all camped out at 80 and the longs mostly occupyingt 85. A little gust of wind with a relief rally could knock it right up to 85, while the continued grind could have it languishing down to 80. Either way, I think the laws of gravity (in the form of pinning) will be at work here.

I am sitting on 100% plus gains on CMG Oct Weeklies. It is up by another 2% today. It seems the vol pockets might support it going another $15 or so back to its highs at 442. Would you hold to your calls for that another $15 pop or book the gains?

I held a LOT of weekly’s last week. Thursday night I was up al aImost 242%. By the time the dust settled and the trades closed on Friday – I was LUCKY to be up 2%. As OA always says, the fast drops happen instantly, the clawbacks can take time. You had a nice pop over the weekend – bird in the hand and all that. BTW – I’m reading a 52 week high of 427, where is your 442 number coming from ? As I type this stock is at 428 and change. //

Do I pay attention to earnings? Like the earnings date, or the results?
Date, if one is in options you can’t react until market opens and pre earnings option activity is hard to read and oftentimes wrong.
Oh, yeah I have markers on my charts to let me know when earnings are.

used the sentiment chart to spot the LULU setup last week. bought Oct $62.50 calls end of day Friday. admittedly, i was a little apprehensive to look at it this morning. but LULU is showing some strength today. thanks for providing the tools to trade successfully in this type of market.
