With a jam packed week of economic events and news, it would thrill me to see the market flat on the week. This would be the perfect intro to yet another leg up in stocks.
On the day I’ve taken a new position in FSLR and NFLX calls and am about ready to take down a SCTY position. I’m on the fence as to whether to trade these options, which are complete shit, or just buy the stock.
At this point I have decided to call off my plan to reduce my exposure to the market and start picking stocks that will offer explosive moves in the short term.

Which Aug. There are 3 at the price.
Aug = monthlies
Aug1 = 1st weeklies
Aug2 = 2nd weeklies

I always clarify if it is a weekly.
Aug means monthlies
AugX means weeklies

You’re not concerned with the -.21 theta with 9 days to go on the 260s worth $1.51 mid-price and the underlying planking? Not questioning your judgement, I don’t understand NFLX. I got torched selling the 260 PUTs on the 23rd. I was looking for a rally, but I wouldn’t have minded being ultimately PUT the stock but the day was violent and I cut it loose. Of course, now it is trading sideways. Not my wheelhouse yet apparently.
August 260 PUTs that is.
With these trades, the trick is timing, and relatively fast movement.
If NFLX leaves this multiday range tomorrow, you’ll see how these calls react.

I’m not seeing any designation, unless I’m just missing it, of weekly vs. monthly. Perhaps I should call the e-trade people and ask for clarity.
On ETrade, the weekly options have a “w” next to them. Regular expiry does not.
According to my e-trade guy, it’s not marked on Power e-trade, but it’s the third Saturday following the third Friday. so I got now as Aug. 17.
monthlies expire third wekk of month on Saturday, weeklies expire fridays, check respective calender for dates.
Sir, how much pain would you take re NBG? I thought we had a T/L break yesterday, but on the daily chart it got faded and shoved back under the T/L.
