These October Seasonality Favorites Might Have More Room to Run

In Exodus, we have robust seasonality functionality, whereby the distinguished member can search for a particular month, then cross reference up to date performance data and find a high variance from the mean.

In layman’s terms, we are looking for XYZ that normally trades up 20% for October that is only up 5%, giving us a high variance of 15%.

Here is the list. Given that we are in a free trial for Exodus and all, I figured this could help some of you n00bs how to take full advantage of our tools. For those of you who are in a free trial (enjoy it with my compliments), don’t be shy about requesting a live demo. The software was built for people like you and we can only improve upon it with your feedback.

One Doesn’t Stop Bull Runs

I imagine it’s real hard to continuously bet against central banks. Some things are very hard to win at, one of them is placing a bet against the house and expecting to win. On occasion, your audacity might be rewarded. But, rest assured, if you sit at that table long enough, you’ll lose it all: house, cars, kids, wife.

As for me, I simply go with the over-arching trends, one that was written on two motherfucking granite tablets, etched by the lightening of God, in the darkest days of 2009.

Sometimes bad bets pay off, like House Rothschild (Bauer) receiving 20 million from England for 17,000 Hessians, to be slaughtered and humiliated, by the colonial army. Use your proceeds that were ill gotten during the recent slide and use them for good.

For the month of October, thus far, 250 NASDAQS have been recovered, placed inside the National Treasury. “The Fly” knows the truth because he is the embodiment of the market, cross section, from street corner to penthouse; I can feel the vibes of this market when I sleep.

It wants higher.

FREE trials for Exodus expire on sunday. Contact [email protected] for details. Also, and I shouldn’t have to remind you of this, attendance is REQUIRED for my readers in the tri-state area for the iBC Conference. If you’re broke and in the streets, email me and I’ll set you up with a tinned cup. You’re gonna want to be there.

You bears are all birds.

Oil Rips Higher; Oil Stocks Crash

This is truly delightful. I love when the markets do things that aren’t supposed to happen, like crush oil stocks when oil is rallying hard. It reconfirms my theory that everyone is subject to total wipeout and nothing is held sacred.

My commodity exposure was recently increased, with purchases of SLCA, CNX and FCX, so today’s drubbing does not go unnoticed. Lukcily for me, I am also long SHAK, GILD and TWTR in decent size.

Imagine yourself to be one of the little monsters in a game of whack-a-mole and some 5 yr old is presiding over you with a hammer. You pop up every three seconds or so, trying to outwit the child. He’s slow and uncoordinated, so it takes in awhile to get you. But when he does get you, your head will be cracked in half.

Aside from that, everything is peachy. How are you on this fine Friday afternoon? Still buying stocks?

Some of these biotechs are meeting their maker today.

More later.

Wall Street Journal Casting Mad Shade on Miss Holmes

This is a pretty damning article.

Elizabeth Holmes has been praised as the female Steve Jobs of medicine. She dropped out of Stanford at 19; decided to start her own company. Because she was deathly afraid of needles, she tried to figure out an easier way. She hired some guy who had the idea; leveraged up via VC seed money to an mind boggling $10 billion valuation. A few years ago the guy committed suicide, amidst rumors that their pin prick technology was fucking nonsense.

And now this:

On Theranos Inc.’s website, company founder Elizabeth Holmes holds up a tiny vial to show how the startup’s “breakthrough advancements have made it possible to quickly process the full range of laboratory tests from a few drops of blood.”

The company offers more than 240 tests, ranging from cholesterol to cancer. It claims its technology can work with just a finger prick. Investors have poured more than $400 million into Theranos, valuing it at $9 billion and her majority stake at more than half that. The 31-year-old Ms. Holmes’s bold talk and black turtlenecks draw comparisons to Apple Inc. cofounder Steve Jobs.

But Theranos has struggled behind the scenes to turn the excitement over its technology into reality. At the end of 2014, the lab instrument developed as the linchpin of its strategy handled just a small fraction of the tests then sold to consumers, according to four former employees.

Theranos also hasn’t disclosed publicly that it does the vast majority of its tests with traditional machines bought from companies like Siemens AG.

WTF! Come again?

But Theranos’s outside lawyer, David Boies, acknowledges that the company isn’t yet using the device for all the tests Theranos offers. The transition to doing every test with the device is “a journey,” he says.

A fucking journey?

During the Journal’s reporting, Theranos deleted a sentence on its website that said: “Many of our tests require only a few drops of blood.” It also dropped a reference to collecting “usually only three tiny micro-vials” per sample, “instead of the usual six or more large ones.” Heather King, the company’s general counsel, says the changes were made for “marketing accuracy.”

If it smells like bullshit…

image

Ms. Holmes, Theranos’s chairman and chief executive, declined interview requests from the Journal for more than five months. Last week, the company said she would be available to comment, but her schedule didn’t allow it before publication of this article.

Shots fired!

It looks like this lauded privately held VC darling is setting up for the much feared “down round.”

Oh, it’s also worth noting, Miss Holmes board of directors average age is 80, including such dignitaries such as Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, Bill Frist and 7 other political figures, none of which have a medical background, save Frist.

Enter Blue Radio: Let’s Go Mets

Many years ago, I kept a small blue radio on my kitchen counter, so that I could listen to NY Met games. Why?

Because, I’m old school like video music box, classroom beatings, and dangerous Halloween nights.

I grew up immersed in baseball. I played it every day of my life, up until the day I quit varsity baseball–because I’d rather spend my time chasing girls than balls. I was always a Mets fan, because my grandfather had been a NY Giants/Brooklyn Dodgers fan, until “those fucking bastards” stabbed him in the heart, as he liked to say. It’s worth noting, Grandpa Fly would argue until he was blue in the face that he never cursed, while cursing during his heated defense.

“I don’t fucking curse; you god damned liar.”

At any rate, I was very content with the Mets of the 80’s, cocaine addicts playing ball hard, punching the opposing team in the face, just because they could.

Then 2007 happened, a collapse of biblical proportions. The NY Mets ceded a 7 game lead with just 17 games to go, to the bastard Phillies. I will never forget the anguish I felt when they were eliminated from contention. It was like a death in the family occurred and some Yankee traitor, Willie Randolph, was presiding over the funeral arrangements. It was a dark time for Le Fly and his blue radio.

The following year the Mets collapsed in almost the same end of year fashion. After that, I was no longer a baseball fan. I stopped listening to games and I haven’t visited the field since. As a matter of fact, I’ve never been to Citi-field. People have offered me free tickets, field level, and I told them to fuck off. You couldn’t pay me to go.

Now the Mets are trying to rope me back into their snare. They are playing an elimination NLDS game tonight, versus those ‘fucking bastard” Dodgers and I am secretly rooting for the Mets to succeed. I want to believe. Hell, it’s the Mets’ stupid slogan, aside from the juvenile “Let’s Go Mets” chant.

If the Mets win tonight, I will take out the blue radio, dust it off, and place it back onto my kitchen counter top. I will wear old jerseys and talk shit to my fellow Yankee fans, who, by the way, were unceremoniously escorted out from playoff contention without a fight.

Two thousand and fifteen has been a year of false starts, faded momentum, and trickery. Let’s see if the Mets can provide me with a much needed respite from the drudgery of this God forsaken stocked market.

Moody’s Warns of a Deteriorating Russian Economy

I am guessing Moody’s hasn’t seen pictures of Putin riding atop black bears, or swimming with real sharks. Also, I am sure they haven’t seen Putin, bare chested, walking through fields of wheat in the Crimea.

“What once has been the country’s strongest asset, which was the government’s very strong financial position, is now under significant pressure,” Kristin Lindow, senior vice president at the credit-ratings company, said Wednesday in an interview in Moscow. “It doesn’t have a lot of debt, but it also is actively depleting its saving buffers, with very littleprospect in the medium term of rebuilding them.”

It’s worth noting, Russia can run dry of their reserves within two years.

To make up the bulk of next year’s shortfall, the Finance Ministry plans to use 2.1 trillion rubles from one of Russia’s two sovereign wealth funds, and may tap an additional 500 billion rubles from it if needed. Russia may exhaust both of its funds in 16 months to two years if it continues to rely on the $144.2 billion reserves without scaling back budget spending, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov has warned.

Either oil has to skyrocket over the next two years, or Russia really needs a big war. Which do you think is most likely to occur?

LOOK AT ALL THE COLORS

Stocks reasserted themselves today, soaring more than 200. This, of course, was predicted by the Exodus algos, which all of you have the priviledge to try now. Email [email protected] for a trial.

In a little more than 1 week, iBankCoin will be hosting a conference, in NYC. We will have guests, people of interest, food, booze, and lots of hot hot coffee.

I’ve also taken liberties to hire live music for the cocktail party, along with Yale Club’s best, highest shelf spirits.

Reserve your place amongst greatness now.

For the day, I made close to 2%, led by the liars at BIDU. My only purchase today was NK.

Egg Prices Hit Record Highs, Just in Time for Halloween

I don’t know about you, but when I was a kid, there wasn’t any trick of treating taking place in my neighborhood. We’d put on Jason masks and fill book bags with dozens of eggs and then attack other blocks with a maelstrom of poultry embryos that were so plentiful: they’d blot out the sun.

We’d also take shaving cream bottles and attach RAID bug spray caps to them, or aerosol caps, to make the shaving cream spray far and wide, so that we could destroy people with it. Back in my days (extra 80s), eggs were cheap. We didn’t give a shit about them. We’d hit people in the heads with them, and then laugh.

Nowadays, eggs are like caviar, expensive and rare. Thanks to exotic animal diseases, effectively wiping out 50 fucking million chickens this year, egg prices are through the roof– up 52% from the lows of 2015.

Get this, egg prices rose 32% in June alone, and now stand at the absurd price of $2.97 a dozen.

Fuck.

If I was a kid preparing for halloween now, my mother would smack me in the mouth if I asked for 3 bucks so that I could crack some eggs over Joey’s face.

The best way to play this is via CALM. Look at the profit ramp.
eggs

Stay $CALM and eat eggs. Sorry I had to say it.
