For the remainder of the month, I will dedicate Saturday’s to review a horror film, in honor of hallows eve. Jar my memory and name your scariest film. I’m looking for scary as shit movies, so keep your child’s play suggestions the fuck out of here (double entendre!).

Exorcist, complete with projectile green vomit
The Fly (1986), of course.
Is it too late to buy $GLNCY
Space jam
Amityville horror
The original is sick
“The Fourth Kind” .. scary as shit
Ah. I have that on DVR. I think I’ll finally watch it; or maybe not.
The Notebook
Oh wait, I’d like to change my answer: Atonement
Anything on this list: http://www.imdb.com/list/ls051321915/
Interesting genre, Asian Horror, I may pull one up on Netflix
The new look is off brand for the classy folks that frequent this fine establishment.
The Brain That Would Not Die (1959). Haunts me to this day.
Freaked me out as a little vamp. Body parts are so disturbing. I like my people whole. – “…kill me.”
The shrine
#2: The Taking of Deborah Logan …so eerie
The Exorcist, it’s different…hard to watch.
“The Hand” 1960, I saw it as a child and have never tried to see it again.
Exotic Marigold Hotel
Event Horizon
OK, previous kidding aside, I’d have to agree. That was one trippy flick.
The fly.
The black n white version, help me…help me….
There is a difference between being scared and wanting to vomit.
Black Death. I like history, though. The final scene with Osmund…matchless.
Nothing had me jumping out of my seat like “Jaws”, not your traditional horror movie but in the theater it got me
i know how much you love talking about getting your dick chopped off by a samurai knife..You would probably love the movie ” Teeth” ..pretty fucking scary
Blair Witch Project
Hellraiser
My one word movie suggestion has been moderated. Since the new site went up, I’ve been moderated (without cause) on the OA, Raul, and now Fly blog.
Btw, here’s another movie. Not over the top horror, but great for October: Let The Right One In (Swedish version)
3rd attempt. I am being moderated
You must have tripped a filter with a word in your movie title. How controversial.
Could be, but what about the other occasions?Likely I’ve unwittingly crossed R.W., and believe he’s flagged my IP in order to teach me a lesson.
Honestly, your post are always enjoyable. The Fly can’t have anything against you. I think the Fly just gets in a mood sometimes and wants to punch everyone in the face. Shit, that happens to me too.
I’ve been moderated twice and deservedly so both times. Once I was ripping the Fly for supporting child molesters (Woody Allen) and once for jumping into a religious conversation in support of Brother Sloop.
Saw…(the first one)
Hostile (first one) is another classic
Mulholland Drive – Lynch is genius
Good pick: Cowboy “”this is the girl”
The Ring
Paranormal Activity
Agree with Event Horizon(great flick) and a triple feature in my youth that left me scarred for life.Horrors of Black Museum, Circus of Horrors and Pit and the Pendulum.Anybody watch horror movies through gaps in their fingers?
Human Centipede, The Antichrist. These are more of the “uncomfortable” horror genre.
You know there is the scary as shit movies and then the just disturbing ones. Exorcist made an impression when I was a kid. Anything where the devil or a demon is taking possesion of ones body is scary as shit. But then there are the just brutal and disturbing ones that make you believe that it could happen in real life. The first Hostel movie was one of those. I found this list of disturbing movies and there are some on the list that I have never seen but might soon: http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/08/the-50-most-disturbing-movies/
Other than movies I’m looking forward to going to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights with the kids for some real screaming in the next few weeks…
I’m not a true horror aficionado, but have read in interviews with those that are (like Danzig) that the Japanese are masters of the genre. I’ve only caught American, remakes like The Grudge & The Ring. Surely there’s someone that can post a few good ones to check out.
Carrie – the final scene still makes me jump
Nightmare on Elm Street 1 & 2 really messed me up as a kid. I always think the rom-com/horror genre is idiotic but fun like “I know what You Did Last Summer” and “Scream.”
Children of the Corn. Classic.
Truly
Alien
Friday the 13th…..but part 2 ruined it when they killed the surviving chick from part 1 in the opening 15 minutes.
Texas chainsaw massacre (the original)
The Omen. c. 1976 with Gregory Peck. A true horror classic.
U guys just beat me to these. The baboon scene in the Omen scared the hell out of me and going to a midnight matinee to see the original Chainsaw was great for heightening the mood.
Great one! Rosemary’s Baby is another creepy flick from those years
Alien
Event Horizon. Then take it up a notch and play the PC video game Dead Space on max graphics with Hi-Fi headphones in a pitch dark room. Similar from going from The Hobbit to LOTR in terms of quality.
the shining
The Thing. John Carpenter is the master of Horror. Also, watch In The Mouth of Madness.
Night of the Living Dead. Couldn’t get it out of my head when I first saw it years ago.
The Red Dragon
actually the original was called Manhunter
“Mothman Prophecies”; for one reason – – it is true.
Jaws. Saw it at just 8 years old at the theatre and haven’t looked at the water the same since.
99 Homes. Nothing is more frightening than financial horror.
