I was going to sh!t all over GEVO, as I’m fond of doing with stocks with such terrible cash flow and income ($5-10M loss/quarter). However, the balance sheet seemed to tell a different story.
I do not understand how, but this company is flush with cash: $14.8M and also plenty of stuff (Property and Equipment of $72M). This compares favorably with the total liabilities of $27.5M.
However, the kicker to the whole thing is that the market cap of this company is only $10.3M. Again, let me remind you of the $14.8M in cash (for comparison, SEED has a market cap of $27M and cash of 0.5M, rounding up).
So basically, this company will ikely be gone in 3 years: either the managers will finish flusshing all the cash down the toilet or it will be bought out at a considerable premium to today’s price.
