Semiconductor Hldrs ETF holds at first level support (33.53 -0.17) -Update

Highlighted first level support at 33.50/33.41 in The Technical Take and the lagging SMH tested and is attempting to rebound off this area (session low 33.42).  A push back above 33.62/33.70 would neutralize the weaker action off yesterday’s early high.  The next short term resistance zone of note if able to build on the push off support is at 30.90/30.96

The retail group is also lower with the Retail HOLDRS Trust (RTH) down 0.8% and the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT) down 0.2%. Trading on upside: Stage Stores (SSI+3.9%) initiated with a Buy at Soleil… Hot Topic (HOTT +2.1%) higher following news that HOTT’s CEO resigned…Nordstrom (JWN+1.2%) upgraded to Buy from Neutral at Goldman… Express (EXPR +4.2%) beat by $0.06, beat on revs; guided Q1 EPS; guided FY12 EPS in-line…  Notable Mentions: Wet Seal (WTSLA) names Ken Seipel as President and Chief Operating Officer

TiVo inceases and prices private offering of $150 mln 4.00% Convertible Senior Notes (8.75 )

Co announces pricing of its private offering of $150 mln aggregate principal amount of 4.00% Convertible Senior Notes due 2016.The size of the offering has been increased from the previously announced $120 mln aggregate principal amount. Co intends to use the net proceeds from the sale of the notes to fund intellectual property litigation and research and development spending and for general corporate purposes, which may include funding sales and marketing expenses, increasing working capital, making capital expenditures and potentially for strategic acquisitions

  • Wabtec Corporation (WAB) has signed a $27 million contract with Parsons to provide equipment and services for the implementation of Positive Train Control at Metrolink, a commuter rail agency that serves Southern California. Parsons was awarded a contract in 2010 to manage and implement PTC across Metrolink’s 512-mile system.
  • Procera Networks (PKT) announced its expanded presence in Asia Pacific with two new regional offices covering Australia and New Zealand, and in Hong Kong also covering Greater China; as well as three new ProceraPro channel partners in the region.
  • Orbitz for Business, the corporate travel group of Orbitz Worldwide Inc. (OWW), announced a new partnership with GlobalStar Travel Management to extend Orbitz for Business capabilities into 75 new countries across Europe, Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
  • American DG Energy (ADGE) entered into an agreement with Global Partners LP (GLP).   • Global Alert Network, a unit of Global Traffic Network (GNET) announced that its hands-free mobile application providing hyper-local traffic and weather alerts is now available to consumers nationwide.
  • Lockheed Martin (LMT) recently delivered the 8,000th AN/UYQ-70 combat console suite to the U.S. Navy, marking a key milestone for a system that is currently installed on 90% of the Navy’s commissioned ships.
