BLOOMBERG: OBAMA MUST TAKE ‘IMMEDIATE ACTION’ AGAINST GUNS

Source

“Today, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an ardent gun control advocate, moved to politicize the monstrous school shooting in Connecticut, issuing the following statement:

With all the carnage from gun violence in our country, it’s still almost impossible to believe that a mass shooting in a kindergarten class could happen. It has come to that. Not even kindergarteners learning their A,B,Cs are safe. We heard after Columbine that it was too soon to talk about gun laws. We heard it after Virginia Tech. After Tucson and Aurora and Oak Creek. And now we are hearing it again. For every day we wait, 34 more people are murdered with guns. Today, many of them were five-year olds. President Obama rightly sent his heartfelt condolences to the families in Newtown. But the country needs him to send a bill to Congress to fix this problem. Calling for ‘meaningful action’ is not enough. We need immediate action. We have heard all the rhetoric before. What we have not seen is leadership – not from the White House and not from Congress. That must end today. This is a national tragedy and it demands a national response. My deepest sympathies are with the families of all those affected, and my determination to stop this madness is stronger than ever.

If Bloomberg’s deepest sympathies were with the family, he wouldn’t use this as an opportunity to get on his soapbox about gun control. We don’t know all the facts of the case yet, Connecticut has some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country, and it seems that the shooter obtained his guns legally.”

Quick Summary: CT Shooting

The details have been released, here’s a quick summary:

20 year old Adam Lanza woke up this morning, stole his mom’s two guns and riffle, then shot and killed his own mother. After, he proceeded to her place of employment, the elementary school, and killed 20 children, ages 5-10, and 6 adults, including the principal.

_______

We live in a sick, sick, place. I lost a piece of what little faith I have left in this world. My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected.

SHOOTER WAS AUTISTIC

4:52 p.m: Ryan Lanza, 24, brother of  gunman Adam Lanza, 20, tells authorities that his younger brother is autistic, or has Asperger syndrome and a “personality disorder.”  Neighbors described the younger man to ABC as “odd” and displaying characteristics associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Shooter is NOT Ryan Lanza. It’s his brother, Adam, 20

A crazed gunman dressed in black went on a rampage at a Connecticut elementary school this morning, in a massacre that left the shooter and 26 dead others – including 18 children.

Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother dead and targeted her kindergarten class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., sources sais. Sources also told The Post that Lanza’s mother was a teacher at the school and he “had a dispute with her.”

Nine facts about guns and mass shootings in the United States

When we first collected much of this data, it was after the Aurora, Colo. shootings, and the air was thick with calls to avoid “politicizing” the tragedy. That is code, essentially, for “don’t talk about reforming our gun control laws.”

Let’s be clear: That is a form of politicization. When political actors construct a political argument that threatens political consequences if other political actors pursue a certain political outcome, that is, almost by definition, a politicization of the issue. It’s just a form of politicization favoring those who prefer the status quo to stricter gun control laws.

Documentary: Resonance – Beings of Frequency

Cheers on your weekend!

[youtube://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vb9R0x_0NQ 450 300]

RESONANCE is a sensational eye opening documentary which reveals the harm we are doing by existing in an ocean of man made wireless frequencies. Two billion years ago life first arrived on this planet; a planet, which was filled with a natural frequency. As life slowly evolved, it did so surrounded by this frequency. and Inevitably, it began tuning in.

By the time mankind arrived on earth an incredible relationship had been struck; a relationship that science is just beginning to comprehend.

Research is showing that being exposed to this frequency is absolutely integral to us. It controls our mental and physical health, it synchronizes our circadian rhythms, and it aids our immune system and improves our sense of well being.

Physicists To Test If Universe Is A Computer Simulation

“Physicists have devised a new experiment to test if the universe is a computer.

A philosophical thought experiment has long held that it is more likely than not that we’re living inside a machine.

The theory basically goes that any civilisation which could evolve to a ‘post-human’ stage would almost certainly learn to run simulations on the scale of a universe. And that given the size of reality – billions of worlds, around billions of suns – it is fairly likely that if this is possible, it has already happened.

And if it has? Well, then the statistical likelihood is that we’re located somewhere in that chain of simulations within simulations. The alternative – that we’re the first civilisation, in the first universe – is virtually (no pun intended) absurd.

And it’s not just theory. We previously reported that researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany had found evidence the Matrix was less than fiction. That story was by far our most popular of the year – indicating it’s something about which you lot have wondered too…”

Military Judge Orders Guantánamo Prisoners Not to Talk in Court About Being Tortured

“The Obama administration has won a critical ruling in the upcoming military trial of the September 11, 2001, plotters that will keep the defendants from testifying about being tortured.

The Central Intelligence Agency, Department of Defense and the Federal Bureau of Investigation asked the military judge, Colonel James Pohl, to censor any statements from the detainees going on trial that reveal how they were tortured or abused by the U.S.

Pohl agreed with the agencies that classified information should not be disclosed during the proceedings, including any details about the use of interrogation techniques on the defendants.”

State of the Union: Middle-Class Meltdown and the Minimum Wage

“Many American who lost middle-class jobs during the recession have been forced into low-paying positions, leading to a clamor for hikes in the minimum wage and more worker activism, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The National Employment Project calculated that of the 1.9 million jobs created during the recovery, 43 percent are in the low-wage industries of retail, food and employment services.

And according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about one-third of the 3 million Americans who lost their jobs from 2009 to 2011 saw their earnings drop by 20 percent or more upon finding new work. “
