Our castles were built with sand and this Gilead news just washed them away.
BREAKING: Data on Gilead’s remdesivir, released by accident, show no benefit for #coronavirus patients https://t.co/rstX36a7lA via @statnews These are data from the China study. $GILD

Markets went from +350 to negative in a blink of an eye and then it rebounded and then it dropped again. Presently, the Dow is +100, Nasdaq +50, but people are nervous. They do not want to get HOOKED. Having said that, I would not be surprised to see markets rally again — because NEW FUCKING HOMES NEED TO BE BUILT and people NEED their 7,000 sq ft homes and the 30 million people now without work get literally FUCK THEIR OWN FACES.
So will markets rally back towards the highs? Maybe. Should they? NO!
Nevertheless, I sold out of SQ today for +2.5% and doubled down on my short and have kept my gold, otherwise I am perfectly pleasant and EAGERLY awaiting to allocate some cash.

Cramer playing the don’t believe China card. Must be long GILD.
This is from doctors, not China directly, and has actual data associated. Think about Trump vs Fauci.
Mortality at 28 days: 13.9% vs 12.8%. There seems to be some confusion on which result was for the control group, and which was for the drug, but the data still shows the drug either provide no benefit or a very small one.
Also, Cramer has admitted to pump-and-dumping in the past, so I doubt he ever changed his ways.
don’t think anyone was really hanging their hat on that as a treatment anyhow. just another excuse to rally at the time.
10 seconds later having no cure has been priced into the market
Haha, you summed this market in a most excellent way.
Everything is already priced in. If there has to be a chernobyl style nuclear disaster in the usa or start of a war with china, now is the time, market would rally to new, never dreamt of highs.
We don’t do hot wars with nuclear powers.
(Watching the barn burn)
Bulls: “okay, but like we know the barn is burning, I’m watching it burn. So the farm must be fine, it’s priced in. No need to do anything.” (Continues to watch it smolder)
(9 months later, long after learning the planting seed was also in the barn)
Bulls: “okay so my family tasted great, but I know I ate them so they’re probably fine.”
I think the analogy is more suitable for when your puts and inverse ETFs reach 0
Here’s something going to 0:

Treasury bonds are giving this multi-week rally no respect.
While I certainly could be about to get taught a lesson, I’m inclined to think the next two months are going to be very difficult for you.
Being from China it was a counterfeit knock off drug by the name of Hilead. Can pick it up cheap in Chinatown/NYC anyway. And if you buy the vaccine now from Wonton Hopp on the corner of Mulberry and Walker he will throw in a couple of watches and designer bags.
Oil says fuck your sell off.
More Fed bucks on the way.
P.S.Don’t tell IBC commenter richardwiener but some scientist has patented a vaccine for Tel Aviv. Univ. They are also working on cell therapy for the associated lung infections.
Probably some Jewish scientists who want to control the healthcare world. (/S.)
Stocks want higher after today’s bullish jobs report.
The W.H.O. which covered for the CCP released the data ‘by accident’?
Methinks perhaps thaar be lots o’ fuckery afoot laddies.
Yee best be careful.
Arrr…
Next up Nicotine. Already got a bottle of lozenges before they sell out.

Watch CEMI here …may squirt.
…and, for my friend Numbers …”may” means may. And my observations are intended only for those who plan exits before entries.
i’m confused at to the trajectory of a squirt. Does this mean up or down?
She’s on top.
thanks
I just don’t see that these Gilead trial results are very meaningful at all. The study was stopped early due to low enrollment, so there was not enough data to draw any real conclusions about efficacy. The paper was also a draft that had not undergone full peer review, and conclusions would likely be worded quite differently if it had.
It’s not about Gilead, it’s about violent reaction to the downside. Twitchy, nervous market 😉
And what was the post about? Did it not have something to do with Gilead?
Bulls: “Gilead’s clothes are so exquisite! Look how they shimmer in the light!”
The results shown are for over 200 patients. The UoC leak that boosted the market was 125 patients. Was that meaningful? The market ceteinly thought so.
Also, “Death” doesn’t change under peer review, no matter how you spin it.
You know I used to think that, but 30 years of WHO social research routinely weighted deaths in socialist South American countries away while pretending the US people who die are twice-killed in order to make our system look worse than it is.
What studies are you referring to?
Also, there is a difference between documented deaths (especailly in a clinical study) and “assumed” or “estimated” deaths such as the number of lives saved through controling polution or lives lost through poor diets. Not long ago, Trump’s adminsitration made the assetion that lossening fuel consumption laws would save lives.
“I just don’t see that these Gilead trial results are very meaningful at all. ”
If this same study would have shown benefit from the drug, it would have been touted on every news channel and Trump would have stopped watching Wheel of Fortune long enough to hold a press conference about the “miracle cure.”
I initiated a short position on Gilead. Two reasons:
1) In the China study they actually did ***worse*** than the control group. The math says that the 13.9% death rate was for Remisdelver, while the control group had 12.8%.
2) Check out the history of Gilead’s US “severe” study. It doesn’t take a medical degree to deduce that the study isn’t going as well as Gilead hoped.
https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/history/NCT04292899
Good luck with that
You know, i realized that I *will* need a little luck becuase you and MCT are right: you actually **can** get rid of deaths and Bulls will beleive any scrap of good news that fits their bubble.
People don’t die in company sponsored studies: they “withdraw” or are “lost” or “removed early”
This is exactly waht happenned with hydroxychlroroquine a month ago when the meida reported the great news :
Typical article at the time reported:
20 out of 30 patietns did well,
10 didn’t show improvemnt
Actual results:
20 out of 36 patietns did well,
10 didn’t show improvemnt,
2 declined further participation,
3 had treatment halted when they were transferred to the ICU
1 had treatment halted when they died

During a true Pandemic, markets will react to leaks, hopes, etc about a treatment whether good news (up) or bad (down)… especially from a reputable company like GILD. Place your bets now but don’t call the game before true, stromg data are released. There will be important trials and sub analysis on timing of drugs (early hospitalization, entry into ICU’s, etc. that will be important for society in this year before a vaccine is out en masse. Besides, GILD’s car-t alone in oncology is a gamechanger imho… and cancer will unfortunately be here to stay long after covid was a surreal Dali paitning in the rearview.
