Here We Go Again: Fed’s Harker Calls For Two More Rate Hikes in 2016

To give the false illusion of economic prosperity, the Fed heads menace markets with interest rate hike promises. If you’re willing to debate me about the merits of the US economy, look no further than the value of homes less than 1 million since 2009. Zero growth there; but a fuckload of growth in homes worth more.

All of a sudden, BREXIT is a non-starter. The economy has recovered from that harrowing May jobs report and all is well.

“Considering the economic projections, I anticipate that it may be appropriate for up to two additional rate hikes this year,” said Harker, who does not vote on policy this year.

“Brexit is low on my list of risks, and I do not anticipate more than a transitory couple of 10ths of a percentage point slowdown in growth,” he added in prepared remarks.

Rest assured, just before the Fed is expected to hike rates, almost out of the blue, something will happen to derail it from happening.

Yep, this is clockwork to cool off the rally. Cramer did a mocking prediction quote today that was basically this exact same line. When we’re all in on the joke, is it even funny anymore? No way any moves before election. I’m thinking December, too.

I have a small condo near the beach above Ventura. In 2009 the value dropped to around 300k from about 650. Now it’s back up to 600k.

Home values bottomed in late 2011 early 2012, so yes, there may be little growth since ’09. Nonetheless, my local economy is not showing signs of stress. I see numerous buildings going up, both single dwellings and multi-family. Rents seem outrageous and yet occupancy rates are high, which tells me that people are making money. Local businesses are doing well, albeit doing more with less since ’08.

Open borders. You should visit Cali. Rents are booming. Being a landlord.

No one can build in most of Cali. Supply and demand insanity. Section 8. The truth of the situation has nothing to do with a good economy. Twilight Zone shit man.

I absolutely agree with the growth in the high end. Almost unprecedented, but very focused on real estate. One indicator I’ve been following for a while is the boat market; it is not even close to 2006-2007 highs.
