Well, I am happy to report the sale of Le Casa del Fly. It sold the first week it was showcased. The only problem we have now, at Le Casa del Fly, is we’ve yet to buy a replacement home. In other words, come July, we will be homeless. Having said that, I intend to pack the family into an RV and “trailer park” it in front of your pristine grounds, where I will be in a mobile command center, operating– cloaked in ambiguity– iBC’s ORBITAL SPACE CANNON (OSC), intended to be used for aggressive offensive measures.
Very soon, “The Fly” will be coming to a neighborhood near you.
I bought CLR for the oil exposure. The stock has been beaten up a bit, like many other stocks in the sector. In addition to CLR, I like AREX and GPOR too. But CLR gets my money due to their earnings potential and proclivity of $85 stocks shooting to $120 (no Cramer).
YELP got punched in the scrotum this morning, but quickly stabilized as volume seized up. Some fucktard, who knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the company, penned a hit piece this morning. As a result, the shares were, criminally, sent lower. No worries, the shorts inside of the YELPcopter will crash and burn, charred beyond recognition, identified by a few loose molars left over from the accident.
I would not be surprised to see YELP reverse higher into the bell, giving the shorts the business into the weekend. I’d do it myself if it wasn’t for my large position. My reentry price is $25 and lower. I cannot justify adding to the stock here with a cost basis of $21.75.
Everything else is marginally higher. Nothing to see here but zero volatility, big money chasing small stocks into the summer.

I’ve dispatched Mrs Ecchymosis to clean the oil stain in front of our house, should you deign to park your RV here.
Please dont come to MI 😉
GRPN! Hat tip to RC…
Sold GRPN after lunch, glad I did.
Of course!
LOL.
It has been a great year . Closed it down
yesterday and will spend the rest of year
day trading and relaxing .
You were a big help Fly . Thanks and good luck .
You should park the RV in a WMT parking lot and squat.
Congrats on selling your house. Did you get near your asking price?
Congrats on the sale. Excellant time to get out. Undoubtedly, Mrs. Fly had Casa del Fly in primo condition; hence the quick sale.
Think the unthinkable: rent in your area of choice until after the elections.
Then when the bottom drops out of the world sometime after that, RE deals will fall through due to financing. Some of the sellers (owners or developers) will need cash – quick. That’s when you send an iBC drone in to machine gun everyone in sight. Then waltz in, being careful to step over bodies, and pick up a primo property at a nice discount to today’s prices. Of course, Mrs. Fly will be against any such notion. Just an idea.
Don’t believe the realtors. Sure there is some blipiness in RE now, but those are headfakes in flat to slowly declining market. They truely believe in their hopes and prayers; but they will not be answered.
iBC imagery is the best on the internets, bar none:

Good advice and thanks.
Unfort, Mrs. Fly would rather die than rent.
Renting is akin to sitting on a public toilet seat.
buying right now is akin to crapping in a catapult’s launch bucket. You’ll have a few months to feel okay about it and then someone pulls the rope.
Yeah and it was a great buy in 2005 you said, now that it’s 50 cents on the dollar it’s crap.
Perhaps hire a knife-in-between-the-teeth, no quarter buyers broker.
The house I wanted sold before I could place a bid.
sold sold? or pending sold?
Glad you moved…..can’t believe you stayed in staten island as long as you did. I’d keep that one to yourself in the future. I do enjoy reading your blog so keep up the good work.
I grew up in Brooklyn and lived in a basement apt for 2 years before moving. I made 700k my second year in the basement.
Never judge a book…
The only reason why I moved to SI was to escape Brooklyn. I didn’t know any better, bought this house when I was in my mid 20’s
Did you sell it for more/less than the zestimate from zillow.com (or Trulia.com)?
Zillow zest changes 10% every month
I knew a couple of rednecks that ran a run down gas station out near my friend’s ranch. They lived in the back of the station. Turns out they are millionaires and bought a major transportation company and own half of the county. Their sons names are John Wayne and Cowboy, they’ve never worked a day in their life. Can’t make this shit up.
Now you will move to the great Garden State of NJ to escape Staten Island.
It’s a natural progression.
Teavana @ Short hills mall is going to break sales records
Congrats, Fly, on the sale.
May you find a great new house–better than the one that got away before you could place a bid. Three months is a good amount of time to locate one.
I doubt you ever short puts but the YELP April 25’s fetch a decent premium.
hope you and the family find a great home. good luck sir.
I’m left wondering:
who will replace Steve the Neighbour; will you take your gardener with you; when do you estimate the completion of the removal and re-assembly of Puma Punku in its new home in New York state?
Steve the neighbor was Steve jobs… It’s a touchy subject, he doesn’t want to talk about it.
LULU was up absurdly, so I sold it, then it went up some more.
And they said the housing market was dead…hahaha
Congrats Fly
Go find some nice farmland! Build a yourself a castle. You won’t regret it.
Congrats on the sale.
Farmland. That’s the best advice of the day. Thay ain’t makin’ no mo ah dat, said an old (rich) farmer to me.

That is the first thing I wondered, too.
What about Steve the neighbor?
Where is that dude?
sounds like you underpriced your house..
I dumped my energy plays on the pop today..I hate em all. Much better places to be in the new quarter…
Fly, et. al.. More as an exercise in intellectualism, my understanding is that the sale of realty proceeds can be used for §1031 “like kind exchange” purchases in precious metals.
E.g. A million dollar sale (easy numbers) could purchase about 600 ounces of gold. If, and when, gold soars through 2012 (think QE 3), then profits from sale could be, once again, used for later real estate purchases.
I know you needn’t any ideas, but I just learned about this last year or so. FWIW.
OBVIOUSLY THIS ISN’T ADVICE, as there are many other details and conditions that must be satisfied to make the IRS happy… .
But I am leveraged with a mortgage. If I bought gold, I’d have to pay 100% cash. Hence, a 5x leverage can work wonders if timed right.
O. Ok. I c (sortta – being the Blind Man and all).
Another point of analysis is that purchasing realty in undervalued currencies can be a financial boon and “enriching” experience.
Portugal, France, Italy and Berlin have all been on my list (in no particular order naturally). Possibly Ireland or North England (but unsure about countries with reigning monarchs – Spain and Nederlands are also on the highly skeptical list).
Not a great idea. To take extreme cases, I’ve heard hyperinflation areas have real estate collapses and houses lose their value tremendously, at least when priced in anything that matters. The reason? Because all the global money moves out of that currency, and into others (low demand, high supply) and people don’t trust them around the world. A loaf of bread costs thousands or millions or billions depending on how bad the hyperinflation gets, and unemployment skyrockets because no one wants to work for $5 an hour or $500 even when as soon as they cash their check they won’t be able to make anything. Businesses can’t afford skyrocketing costs and the area mostly becomes abandoned. No one wants to live in an area with growing unemployment even if average income goes up because costs go up too so appreciation is an illusion.
While I’m not wholly in agreement WJ, I can accept that POV with appreciation. Constructive consideration alway$ valued.
It’s Steinbeck, isn’t it? John Steinbeck lived in NYC later in life, as well as in Monterey, his home turf. And he was of Irish and German descent.
I’ve read most of his books, including “The Sea of Cortez” and “The Log From the Sea of Cortez” which weren’t really that much fun to read.
But the rest of them, I loved.
It just came to me, and it’s got to be Steinbeck.
No wonder your writing is so incredible.
If not, I have second guess which is probably, now that I think of it, more likely the correct one.
Paul Auster?
Farmland is too expensive, the return is pathetic. You just don’t buy a bunch of dirt and get rich. Morons advocating farmland at 10K an acre wtf?? I ask myself, How much do they own? The answer is 0. I live in the middle of “Dirtland” and it isn’t that easy. Please save the snide comments as I have heard them all and have yet to hear a clever one.
A nice farm house with some nice acreage, on the other hand, would be sweet, though.
Farm fresh eggs, fresh raw milk, home grown mustard greens, and the kids can learn to drive right in their own back fields.
And horses.
That would be nice. It’s not all about making money. Right?
But yes, it was hard, dirty work. I lived on a farm for a while, and although I have great memories, it was hard, dirty work, with virtually no vacations.
But the upside was snowmobiling at 2 am, ice skating in your own back yard at any hour, being as loud as you want to be, bon fires and kegs, driving a truck at 12 years old… Not worrying about city ordinances and cops, etc.
I find, as man, the farm(s) is a great escape. FWIW.
I tried to sell a manual shift truck of my dads after he died. First my nephew wanted it, but couldn’t drive a stick shift, so he just changed his mind. Then his friend wanted it, so the friend’s dad said he would take him out in it and teach him to drive using a stick shift. No go. Ended up, five young guys, and not one of them could drive a stick shift!
And my nephew was a full baseball scholarship to a major university. Could not drive a stick!
City kids. LOL
We, as this generation, need big hearts to endure the ego’s the left has crafted.
It’s a sin (to witness – as an going concern – yeah stick shift’s an example).
But I never say what I’m thinking, just keep at ’em (methinks).
We need to keep America strong!
Are you people out of your fucking minds? Do I strike you as the farm-hand type?
your the “other” kind of cowboy.roflmao.hey fly,go lasso yelp, and tie it’s legs, get the bitch ready for brandin..hahahahahaha
I never said start farming. I said get some farmland and build a castle with moats and shit around it.
You don’t need to be the guy pushing the plow to enjoy the country life.
All the monthly/quarterly contributions went to money spent on mega millions instead…
Monday funds are going to discover that they are unusually overinvested for once.
Turn of month effect will be negated, mostly.
a friend of mine moved to southern ill. he paid cash for 29 acres. it was in the middle of know where. it had a 2 bedroom trailer, he lived in it while he built his home. his taxes are 2-300. a year. its all paid for.
So is my kid’s high tech mountaineering 2 man tent paid for. He has is set up on the grounds of my several million $$ beach palace, also paid for. Whatever you have it’s better than being like that asshole Dennis Rodman, broke and past due child support. POS
Great name Mr. Chair. Something tells me you’re not the farming type (hehe).
You still suck.
had a chance to split chitown in 04-05,to just north of madison, 48 acre farmette.i’m still kickin myself in the the ass.

Support for the SPX remains at the 1386 and 1372 pivots, with resistance at the 1440 and 1499 pivots. Short term momentum touched overbought on Friday after forming a positive divergence on Thursday. Our internal count for this uptrend suggests the market is currently in Intermediate wave v. Fifth waves are the last important rally of any uptrend. Since we are expecting the typical 80-120 SPX point correction after this uptrend ends, it is important to monitor this last rally closely. Thus far, after a strong advance from SPX 1340 to 1414 this market has run into a bit of trouble. The pattern since that high can currently be counted as corrective. As noted above the DOW has failed to make a new high. It was one of the two leaders, the NDX the other, during the early-mid stages of this uptrend. And the NDX displays a potentially completed five waves up with weakening short term momentum.
Until this situation clears some it might not hurt to get a bit defensive. For now, until we observe more wave development, we will rely on our OEW pivots and the wave characteristics of this uptrend. The OEW 1386 pivot has provided support for about three weeks. Should this pivot fail it will be our first alert. The next pivot is at 1372. A pullback into its range, 1365-1379, would be our second alert. Should this range fail to hold as well it would represent the largest pullback since December. And, this would suggest the uptrend has ended and a downtrend is underway. Overhead resistance is at SPX 1414, 1419 and then the OEW 1440 pivot. Should the SPX clear these first two resistance levels, it then needs to clear the overhead trendline, currently around 1425. After that the uptrend should resume on to the 1440 and 1499 pivots.
Crude confirmed a downtrend and lost 3.6% on the week.
Gold is still in a downtrend, had a somewhat volatile week, but gained 0.5%. This week’s pullback was also a bit more than expected, but if Gold can rally over $1700 an uptrend from the recent $1628 low is likely underway.
The USD was relatively flat on the week losing 0.4%. It is still in an uptrend, but any further downside pressure could confirm another downtrend.
Very disappointing that your excellent commentary is lacking any kind of intelligent response. Let me add to the refuse normally accompanying anything constructive on these pages by speculating our beloved readers handle every stressful or challenging situation like a dog……. if you can’t eat it or play with it, just pee on it and walk away.
For ‘Le Fly’, humbly …
