After punching holes in the sheet rock yesterday for the SHLD disaster, immediately, I dispatched my Voodoo physician to commit heinous crimes against innocent animals to further my stock market career. As you know, I sold lots of shit, but added to one position: VCLK.
In my personal account, I own WNR, TZA and VCLK. That’s it.
As a result of his crimes, I am benefitting in a great way today, as VCLK sprints, mind you, to “fantastical” prices. The 18% surge in VCLK wipes out my SHLD losses by a factor of 2. To get my shit in order, all I need is for CVI/WNR/ALJ to do their part and smash earnings.
I am most pleased to report, I’ve dispatched my Voodoo physician, yet again, to gather up local animals, herding them into death traps for monetary gain.
As an aside, I feel the market is for shit now and is likely to shit itself on little to no news.

Nonetheless, as long as your thesis was to hold into earnings, come hell or highwater, then I hold nothing against your decision as it is aligned with your thesis.
But let me ask you this. Once earnings are through, what will you do? If price does not recover to make you whole, will you wait longer? or cut your losses?

WNR now down 25% off the highs, on nothing but assumptions. Crack spreads are still above $26. I don’t see how earnings could be anything worse than mediocre, guidance will be good. This all seems quite overdone.

Emerging markets have no business going down at 90 degree angles. And, neither does solar. This crash in the Solar sector TAN is a bit absurd. Even if oil falls, the lack of new nuclear construction will keep solar valuable. Solar and natural gas will break new all time highs in the next 18 months, unless the dow crashes completely.

With all the technicians around here, did anyone mention that the Russell produced and negative outside day on Monday? That normally leads to a few days of weakness and that’s what we got.
Now people are talking about shorting this market…a little late for that.
The BS from last summer, which started in May, is what has people shorting the market IMO. VXX was up around 50% from May 1-31 last year (peaked at about 80% on May 20th).
About WNR: Just because something SHOULD happen doesn’t mean it WILL. I’m biased long from about $18, with an options straddle here at the 16 strike for earnings. Looking for $22, might get $13, but at least I know what I will do when it gets to either of those price points. Place your bets (or not) and we’ll see you tomorrow morning for earnings.

’97 840ci. The master cyl went out & there’s a list of about 5 other things that needed fixing, so my buddy just gave it to me & bought a new car. I rebuilt the master cylinder, replaced all sensors, plugs, seals, powdercoated the valve covers, etc. Next I’m going to replace the front suspension arms & other bushings. I have about $2K into it now in parts & it’s getting painted next week.

My son does muscle cars and even picks up leftovers from college kids that dump on the way home. Usually there is something minor wrong and a quick fix leads to a flip and quick cash for him.
Haven’t totally decided yet, but leaning towards keeping it. My wife is in love with it & I already have a 540i.
That’s a nice talent to have, being able to fix cars.
I have trouble changing the oil on my car.
I’m wondering, though… w. all the computerization, etc., is it becoming increasingly hard to fix newer cars back up?

Actually, newer cars can be easier to work on. If you have the right software (not hard to obtain), the car can actually tell you specific sensors or systems which are malfunctioning. This can save time and money troubleshooting. Combine that with the abundance of info on the net from people who have done the same procedure(s), and it’s actually pretty easy to work on modern cars.
I change my oil with a mityvac topsider BTW. You stick a thin hose down the oil fill hole on the top of your motor & suck out the oil with a pump. Then flip a switch and empty into bottles to dispose of.

For WNR in the world of Fibo Nymph Style…there is very strong support at 15ish on the daily multi month chart..if it Breaks that I would run away from it quickly. On the upside, resistances is at 16.95 that I would not be surprised to see a retest of it. For the overall market we are now in a downside bias, so that never helps if you want to go long…
Oh and for VCLK..19.19ish very STRONG resistance. It’s the 50% retrace level of all time high and 2008 low. BTW for the overall market downside…would expect a drift down to 1313ish range if traders follow the decrease in the Advance -Decline Volume of the NYSE. Yet, over the last year they haven’t been doing that, even when people were selling the Market still went up…so silly.
