The Decline of the West is Disgusting

I’m here reading the notes regarding the Irish bailout and the Wikileaks’ “trove” of secret U.S. documents. Let me just say, the bailout of Ireland is not really a bailout for Ireland. Firstly, it’s being partly financed by the Irish pension funds. And, lastly, it’s main goal is to protect foreign banks, namely French and German, from absorbing billions in losses from loans gone bad. We are talking ridiculous austerity, with 20% of Irish GDP going towards payment of interest next year.

The entire Western banking system is one big house of cards. It’s all connected. Go look at the debt to GDP stats: we’re all in the same boat. Massive debt, declining or slowing populations, while 3rd world fuckfaces expand. What will the world look like in 100 years?

Answer: NOT like Kansas.

The Wikileak “trove of secrets” has me thinking the U.S. government is full of little snitching bitches, not so much different than the modern day mafia. To think, the most recent cables released, officially, by the U.S., dates back to 1972. Yet here we are reading shit that happened this year. The Wikileaks are not the problem, but the symptom of a civilization in decline. No one gives a shit; therefore, nothing is held sacred. To think some eurofag with an ax to grind is publishing this filth on a grand stage (internet, via NYT and other well known newspapers) is sickening. In the old days, people were arrested for this shit. Today, they are interviewed by Oprah and lauded as “heroes of free speech.” You’re not a fucking hero when you’re putting lives at stake. This is nothing more than greed driven journalism. Greed comes in many forms, not just money.

You can’t have it both ways Fly. On one hand you are bemoaning the interconnectedness of banks and a solution designed to prop up elite institutions. On the other hand you are criticizing the wikileaks people for releasing information showing corruption and actions that don’t really pass the “smell” test on the grounds “national security” is at stake. Don’t you believe in checks and balances? If there is no media and ability to expose actions then how put things back into balance?

That’s not a fucking check and balance. We all know the bailouts are bullshit. We do not need to know that our documents show Karzai’s brother as being a drug dealer.

Yes, it’s true, we are corrupt, along with every single government in the world. This is not new to civilization. Name a government that wasn’t corrupt. The point here is: the U.S. government is so corrupted and flawed that these documents were leaked.

In summary: Yes, I hate the Wikileak eurofag because I believe he does a great disservice to my country. But, more importantly, the eurofag would never have those documents, if not for some asshole inside of the US govt leaking them to him.

You mean like Social Security & Medicare? These are the big government expenses, in the area of social benefits. Everyone wants to cut out government benefits received by other people but to keep their own.

It’s true that less educated (not necessarily less intelligent) people, on average, have more kids. There is no evidence that I know of that evil people have more kids.

Nice talking the talk about cutting benefits to yourself.

Now, let’s be honest. Do you or your family members (including parents/grandparents) use Social Security or Medicare? If so, do you in turn give back to the government “a little extra” in your tax returns for your family’s use of these services?

Because, if you answer “yes” to the first and “no” to the second, you’re just another hypocrite. And save the BS rhetoric, too, you’re just as much as part of the problem as any ‘fat smoker’.

    Interesting article here:

    http://traderreview.net/archive/

“Here is the equation that describes the mathematical impossibility of the monetary system.

    “P + I > P.

“The principal plus the interest is greater than the principal. Guess what money is never created? The interest. Guess why people are always “scrambling” and why there never seems to be enough money when banks aren’t “lending.” It’s because P + I > P.”

“…How do you keep the system going? Create more debt, or bring in more people.

“For me personally, I’d rather have the system collapse monetarily than to have our countries so jam packed full of people that everyone ends up living in a tiny condo, paying a huge mortgage, and essentially hundreds of millions of people working… to pay interest…… to banks…. that create money…. from nothing…. and “profit”. “

That’s all a bunch of bullshit too. Insider trading should be legal. Who cares? With the velocity of the tradebots, it’s not like information is not disseminated at lighting speeds by dint of pattern tracing, etc.

If people knew insider trading was legal it would actually make it easier to determing signals in market trading. Instead, it’s covered up and one can’t be 100% sure.

Cheney should have known better …. 2-3% growth doesn’t cut it (especially given the size of the added debt) as the trade off for the tax cuts and spending. Admit it Jake, you can’t cut taxes forever and expect real growth everytime you cut … law of diminishing returns. Especially when the capital wants to be in emerging nations, not here.

They aren’t my Dems … My POTUS would tell the GOP to stick it when it comes to tax cuts for the top 2-5% (you wanna dance, pay the fiddler) and let them expire unless the GOP plays ball. Obama doesn’t have any balls … that’s the problem with this guy. He’s still in the driver seat and the GOP is just riding shotgun trying to apply the breaks for another two years and he doesn’t know enough to head for the RR tracks … risky stuff by the GOP cause if they’re wrong then they are out again in 2012.

There are degrees of self-interest. Everyone is self-interested. But some people would betray their country, seriously harm governments, individuals, diplomatic relationships etc. in order to get fame, money etc. for themselves. Some bankers almost destroyed the U.S. & world financial systems for the Almighty Buck. Some people would stab their mother in the back for $20. But this is not normal self-interest.

Civilization is in decline. No doubt. Morals have all but disappeared. But the same comments were made back in the Roman days when traitors were drawn and quartered or dragged behind a chariots. Now traitors establish web sites or steal millions from unsuspecting investors. People with bad intentions always existed. Maybe we just hear about it more easily with the media and the internet.

I wish there was something we could do to change it but the best thing to do is to understand, adapt and protect yourself and your family from corruption of your core values.

Look at the background of Julian Assange the AUStralian “director,” not founder, of Wikileaks. He has the past that suggests HE could be the culprit of this information deluge. A known hacker, constantly on the move, a history of attention neglect, and deep cynicism- it’s all there. That’s all the time I’m going to invest in that.

As far as Ireland is concerned, here’s a couple of immediate ideas I have:

If you read the National Recovery Plan 2011-2014 leaflet provided by the Irish government, there are a few interesting investing ideas. On the first page they say that one goal is to “Enhance availability of technological infrastructure, in particular next generation broadband networks.” At first glance, the company description of BT (a British company) fits this description pretty well and they service Ireland.

Another one that is interesting with the government is Ryanair (RYAAY). They are desperately trying to get the Irish government to drop taxes on tourism and follow the model the British employed for their air travel. Here’s what RYAAY wrote:

“The break up of the UK’s failed BAA airport monopoly model lends weight to our campaign to break up the equally high cost, failed DAA airport monopoly in Ireland where sadly, as we predicted, tourism is collapsing. Traffic at Dublin airport is heading for a second year of record losses during a year when Ryanair’s traffic will grow by 7m passengers. We expect Dublin traffic to fall by another 3m in 2010 to under 18m passengers. This will amount to an almost 30% decline in Dublin traffic from 24.5m passengers over the past 2 year?s since the introduction of the Irish government?s disastrous €10 tourist tax and the DAA?s unjustified 40% price increases in 2010 when inflation is 0%. We have again cut our Dublin winter capacity by 15%, and have switched more aircraft to other European countries which have scrapped tourist taxes, and cut airport charges. The Irish government must scrap this damaging €10 tourist tax, and break up the failed DAA airport monopoly if Ireland is to once more become a growing-competitive-tourist destination. We warmly welcome last week?s ESRI (Irish Government Research Institute) report which recommended that the government should consider selling off the 2 terminals at Dublin airport to competing operators (in order to promote competition and pay down the DAA?s enormous debts), which would finally end the failed high cost DAA airport monopoly.”
