Strategy from here on is to acknowledge my VXX trade as “untimely” but still relevant. I will add to the positions 1-2 points lower, as we head towards the top end of the recent range. At the close of trading, my largest positions were VXX, EWZ and FLS. Personally, TNA is, by far, my largest.

Not to nitpick but the Q4 EPS guidance is $3.44 vs. $3.82 Street consensus, $3.30 Munster/Piper expectations. So I guess everyone is comparing to the Munster/Piper expectations?

100% Agreed. I would never bet any big positions just before earnings release. This was a small nibble because it is fun to be in Vegas once in a while.

Bonds, swiss franc, yen, vix are all short term oversold. All 4 could easily bounce here, if this bullish descending wedge in the US Dollar keeps holding. Only thing that could kill it would be a Bernanke QE Bazookla ambush tomorrow.
If that fails to happen, VXX could EASILY be 7 to 10 % higher by end of week.
Many sectors climbed near their highs from July 13 ,today. Market is more short term overbought than it appears, on the surface.
The Fly:
1. why are you purchasing VXX before tomorrows expiration as spot will fall due to contract roll which puts pressure on next month?
2. why are you purchasing VXX when it is designed to go to zero as rolling cost etas into available capital every month?

1. why are you buying a product with rolling costs that eat into its own capital (Current contango of VIX Futures eats into cash on hand during roll), and
2. why did you buy VXX before expiration as Spot VIX is currently at a premium to 20 day realized volatility so VIX has to fall to hit realized which drags down the next month price thus lowering the value of VXX?

I have turned early in the face of the hybrid. I now have VXX, puts on SPY, puts on QQQQ, and puts on EEM. Plus 25% TLT.
Oh, and short 3 ES contracts.
All said, not a lot of risk on the line, and I will close all this shit if we crack 1110. But, I just didn’t like how the hybrid went oversold sooo quickly.
If this fucker runs up until 3.0 again, I swear I will obey the hybrid like an automaton until it is some day proven wrong.

Is it possible to trade rydex funds using PPT, i can only trade 2 time a day on rydex funds( trade at 10.30 am or 4 pm) and only bench mark index funds. In other words will PPT subscription help me much as i will be a much slower trader than rest of the gang.

I can answer that, although Fly may have a different opinion. I traded Profunds for a long time and it may have helped with my understanding of when the s&p was overbought or oversold…probably enough to warrant the cost. However, the real benefit comes when trading stocks. Since I’ve switched to trading stocks which wasn’t and easy change ( talk about hitting the wrong button just trying to figure out the mechanical aspects of the trading platform), the PPT has helped me greatly.
Also, If you do switch to stocks and don’t want to spent a whole lot of time trading, Wood’s Power Dip System is incredible.
It seems that I just go into the market every day, grab some coin and take it to my safe deposit box for safe keeping!
