When I was about 18, I worked as a bag boy at the local grocery store in Malibu (circa 1979-ish).

Mary Crosby used to come in and shop, and I would always do a carry-out…..whether she wanted one or not.

That was before all the women had collagen injections, and lord, did she have some sweet lips….her smile was even better!

    Thank you, Bing!

That’s wacked out… I heard the (Judy Collins?) version of this today for the first time in like… ten years or something.

Any way, serendipitously, I’ve a short post tonight about getting SHAM-WHACKED by a secular bull pull-back like one of der Bingle’s kids in a lip-off contest with Pops.

Lately it seems the market goes up on bad news and tanks on good news. Futures just took a big old steaming dump when the numbers came out, but who knows what’s going to happen throughout the session.

Most likely case is we shit the bed big time today.

Among the biotech companies with better than average chances of becoming takeover candidates are Alexion (ALXN), Dendreon (DNDN), United Therapeutics (UTHR) and Seattle Genetics (SGEN), according to Bernstein. Breakout candidates, or companies poised for positive clinical/regulatory results, include Cell Therapeutics (CTIC), Allos (ALTH), and Pharmasset (VRUS). Bernstein believes that Abraxis (ABII), Protalix (PLX), and Optimer (OPTR) are both takeover and breakout candidates.

I hear Cambodia, Thailand, and Vietnam are the next in line for emerging market plays….no shit.

anyone have any favorite stocks based out of those areas?

also, hospital management in asia is a hot topic, seems people in Europe have started these “medical tourism” trips, where people get together in groups to fly to asia to get medical treatment since it is 90% cheaper than back at home. weird but true, Marc Faber was talking about it.

Thailand is in very bad shape, the time to buy the market here was when it hit 400, its now up something like 87% from there, with sign whatsoever of the economy improving. In fact the economy here is in dire straits as the US consumer has moved his goal posts and all that is left here are empty factories and high unemployment.
Its true that dentistry and medical treatment is cheap here, but you have to choose carefully between specific doctors. You can come here, have your treatment and then head for for 2 weeks on the beach in Phuket for less than US treatment. Marc Faber lives in Chiang Mai in the North of the country, I have pals who see him out in the bars and clubs there, apparently he has a keen eye for the bar ladies, the dirty old bugger 🙂

    Artist:

Not in those places however I have some stocks/gamble that could be of interest in oz. There are three small miners involved in the extraction of rare earths. These are elements with unpronounceable names that are of interest because they could be used in new applications.

    ALKANE, LYMAS.

Lymas is interesting as it is supposed to have the largest reserves of rare earths in the world. The Chinese tried to get 51% but were knocked back by our Foreign Investment Review Board (don’t ask). The thinking why they were refused controlling ownership was because they US asked the government here to try and stop the Chicoms from getting their hands on it. Could be true. Anyway the stock was temporarily suspended as a result of the Chinese refusal and will come back on next week possibly a little lower. Could be worth a bet… otherwise there’s ALK which I bought into

he is apparently like a coin flipper who always picks tails and every once in a while, yes, it will land on tails….when it does, he (and his kind) get so excited, and have this “I told you so” attitude……

…well no shit Sherlock, anyone that flips a coin all day, it can either land on heads or tails and will land on both randomly, just as the market can go in only two directions, up or down,…

assclown I think is the word.

As much as the market didn’t make sense to him before this pullback, it’s going to be great fun watching him turn back flips when it kicks him in the crotch yet again. Each time we don’t get some kind of massive sell-off the pressure is building on him to come up with new excuses. He should stop drawing trend lines and learn how to read a tape, cause he’s lost if he thinks this is some kind of trend change in the works. Meanwhile, I think he said earlier that in two days and forty points he had undone the damage of 6 months and 400 points, hmmm get the auditors in there to take a look at those books. This dude is so lost he’s pulling all of his positions off every time they move two or three points in his direction (and announcing it buried in his comments so nobody sees his ass-clownery).

You notice how he uses all of these skin-crawlingly awful attempts at humor or elements of his personal life to try and draw attention away from the fact that he doesn’t know what he doing? I think there is a window in which the newbie feels comforted by the fact that this guy doesn’t just slam them with charts (his charts are as basic as you get). After a while they figure out that they don’t really care that much about his missing testicle or what time he woke up that day and they move on to another site. There is also a persistent crowd that doesn’t give a dump what he says, they are just listening to their own monologue so they throw out an atta boy every now and then just to keep him from throwing a tantrum.

Gawd you got that right. I hate to admit, but that was one of the first trading blogs I found. Ironically it was the “Auto Mechanics Class” post that brought me here and I never left.

Anyway, that Friday night bar thing over there always pissed me off. Especially that dipshit guy that thought he was some sort of bartender. What the hell was that supposed to be about? Swear to God if you took that one guy’s posts off the blog then the traffic would reduce by 80%.

        Monty Python’s Black knight
The last couple of days have healed a lot of damage that my portfolio has been suffering. I’m hoping for a good Friday to wrap up what would be the first really good week I’ve had in a while. Suffice it to say the last two days have been highly restorative to the soul.

Let’s get everything into perspective. The market this week has fallen 2.1% so who the fuck is he kidding this move has ” healed” a great deal of his portfolio? The market has risen 60% since March and this fucker has been on the wrong side. although i sometimes doubt he has any positions on at all.

This bullshitting is really offensive and demeaning. It’s offensive and demeaning because he’s insulting our intelligence with these lies.
