true dat. i’m buying the old lady some bananas.
What is Monsieur Fly’s wine selection for this evening?
The Fly still uses cash? How quaint
I believe the correct phrase for “wad of cash” is pocket full of gwap.
What kind of egregious items?
Give us some examples
Saturday Night is Steak Night!!!!!! That’s all right. Tonight.
Are you going out with Chuck Bennett and his significant other?
From a CNN special: actual footage of Tim Knight at work.
___
And victory was promptly declared by the pantless participant, stating the results exceded my wildest dreams.
Jake, hope the Giants kick the Redskins ass…they are already assembling the band wagon around here in DC that, the Skin’s improved firepower offensively will claim the division…fuck I hate having to listen to this shit on the radio.
I will be swilling beer awaiting the unpantsing of my Bills and T.O. by New England
Thanks Mustard… personally, I do not like the Haynesworth – O’Hara matchup. I think the teeny tiny O’Hara will get tossed around like a ragamuffin doll.
That said, if they run Jake and don’t leave the Zillion Dollar Gimp out there alone to throw us to a win, I think we may squeak it out.

I am sure the black radio is just not the same.
Gents: SYNA has been on my mind. Check out the huge short interest and the cash vs debt.
I feel like I’m missing something. What am I missing?
What is the catalyst these shorts are looking for?
Something hostile and destructive?

I order you to buy MGM
I just heard Alanis Morissette on the radio and it reminded me of something. Where’s Jason?
I bought myself… and the family a beautiful 24″ iMac yesterday.
I love money!!
I had been needing a new laptop for a couple of months. Took some of my DVAX winnings and got a Macbook Air. So far is all good.
Nice, Henry.
I’ve one of this too. They’re not bad hey? And the movement over to mac from Microtheft isn’t too bad either. If you want you can run Microtheft like I do by buying what called Parallels software which lets you split the machine and even run them (mac and micro) concurrently.
You call MSFT theft yet you paid huge dollars for what is a highly customized PC.
There’s no difference anymore except the OS and white plastic.
I call them microtheft because they’re thieves, TA For instance you can own two computers but they will charge your twice for the same software.
A smart person once said – “At the source of every error is a human”.
They dont charge double for your PC. Most OS activations can be done twice if you buy retail MSFT software. Also you can use the same OS key if you call them when you buy a new PC and discard the old one.
What a lot of softie haters dont understand is that they changed the face of software as we know it. They scaled on volume vs price. The price paid by an EOM (HPQ, DELL, etc) for a MSFT OS is no more than $20-$25. That at the end of the day is passed to the end user. PC’s cost 400-500 now vs 5000-6000 for a reason (hardware being a bigger one, yet software prices play a huge deal).
If you bring the free linux argument in, then I say your a moron and “Good day to you Sir”. Anyone whose worked in the industry (Support/development/etc) knows the real cost of an OS is not buying it but maintaining it. Try getting a patching for a zero-day without breaking your LOB app.
Treu.
I do not begrudge Gates his bazillions.
Aside; — Is “Polar Bear” Bowdoin related?
________
Bear & TA – you left out one or two important points. 1. Microsoft traded security end user friendlieness. Microsoft OS’ed PC adoption rates soared, Microsoft made tonnes [sic], the true cost borne by end users (corporate and otherwise), and society at large shelling out for security services and personnel and stolen information which is a boon to organized crime the world over.
2. Selling “half baked” software and then charging full price for a renamed point version with more junk piled on andwith some of the previous security issues fixed, and a lot more un-found and unfixed.
Things they ALWAYS do right?
1. They take care of their developer community. Always.
2. Products my not be perfect on the first try, but they pretty much work as advertised.
3. By the third try you’ve got a product that’s tough to compete against, and the competition needs to step up the game or they’ve already left the building (SQL 2000, Exchange 2003, etc., etc.)
One more thing… They absolutely understand the IT ecosystem, and what drives the upgrade cycle. They dropped the ball with Vista. I would not bet against them with Windows 7. Like I’ve said before: stuff wears out. Those new PC’s will be shipping with a Microsoft OS whether you use it or not. Your users will demand MS Office. Sharepoint is gaining mindshare. You will be assimilated.
Hey bear, please spell you’re correctly. Thanks.
I’ve been in the industry 16 years and I can’t agree more with Polar Bear.
If AAPL is your thing then great but you’re paying their nice margins and you feel it’s worth it. Just don’t run around calling everyone else theives.
All I have to add to this is go buy an iPod and use it on a PC for a year. You will continuously have to uncheck a box saying no you do not want their crappy easiest to hack web browser. If there was ever a dirty evil monopoly, it is Apple and they have cloaked it in a robe of “cool and hip”.
The inside of an Apple store is almost as freaky as a Cosplay convention. Does anyone actually buy anything there? Everything they sell you can get off Newegg for atleast $20 cheaper, even a $20 item, including S&H!
I always get used Macs and fresh OS disks. Much more reliable and less trojans. For example, a nice $500 investment in a used 2.5 GHz powerpc dual core Mac with 8 Gb RAM and a 500 Gb drive. Wireless internet. Then I’ll go out and pic up a blue tooth keyboard/mouse and a 30 inch monitor.
Granted the new Macs are a bit pricey, but there’s always someone desperate to upgrade looking for the quick sale on their equipment.
economic note from Australia;
The real estate market is really starting to move here, especially in the middle range bracket and has been for the pat few months now. Over the past month or so real estate brokers are also beginning to report that demand/inquiries for mansions and is also starting to heat up. The top end sector was obviously the hardest hit with the financial crisis after the 50% drop in the stock market. Of course the real estate market here is very different as we didn’t experience a glut like the US and there was and continues to be a shortage due to the vagaries of nimbyism and shockingly thought out planning policy.
The important thing to note is that the recession is over Downunder and in fact I’m predicting a really fast paced recovery into next year that will cause the central bank here to the the first major CB to begin the tightening cycle as it tries to “normalize” rates. When we take account of the stimulus package which was around 5% of GDP and extremely easy monetary policy I am actually thinking could begin to see over heating by the latter half of next year and into 2011.
Of course I’m not suggesting that the US will follow the same direction as America took the brunt of the recession and was one of the hardest hit countries. However, by the same token the monetary spigot in the US is wide open and fiscal policy is so loose (budget deficit of 13%) it ought be a felony conviction as this is insane.
The US won’t be over heating next year. However the pace of the recovery could in fact still surprise on the upside, I think.
Vulgar Keynesian economics is setting up another crash after the economy starts to overheat. Meanwhile enjoy the great ride as we still haven’t even begun the speculative up move as yet.
Do you rec BHP, then? And do you have other favoured (sic) Ozzie stox?
__________
Yeah, j, thanks for the recommend on EMA, the Oz ETF which has ripped up 90% since March – great call – any more left in it? I see the NG operation starting up on the island off western Oz – LNG to China for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Sounds like the future of Oz is secure with the future of China? Except the Ruskies have a lot on NG too that is for sell.
Jake:
If you like commods, you really have to love BHP. Little to no debt and possibly the best assets in the mining game. By the way, going forward worthwhile remembering that it has the largest uranium reserves in the world.
It’s worth looking at on dips.
Yea those are huge LNG deals, hey.

Nice tape Kim and you are one hell of a golfer. Obama ran out of town to escape the best people that the country has to make yet another speech about “reform” of health care. Of course, he means yet another government welfare program and government takeover. We oppose any program because we know it will be like all those before – start small and then expand into a humongous giant program over the years spewing red ink all over the place.
Yes Sir Mr. Fly,
I learned that lesson Friday with USO. Dumb ass, I even knew better!
Give me a break with “egregious” , you are overusing that word repeatedly. Try some fricking synonyms for a change of pace.
