THE REAL WOODSHEDDER TOP?

I was on the phone with Mr. Woodshedder this evening, when all of a sudden, a loud thump echoed throughout my office. I told Wood “it was likely a painting that fell off the wall.”

Upon further inspection, I was correct. A painting did indeed fall off the wall.

The bad news: IT WAS A PAINTING OF A RAGING BULL, as in BULL MARKET.

EEEEEKKK. Hide the kids. Lock the doors and quit molesting your birds. An ominous sign of apocalypic proportions has befallen Senor Tropicana. I felt is was my duty to inform the underbelly of the financial community, aka you, of such enormity.

    The anonymity of iBC continues to suprise me. People (like me) send “The Fly” PPT sub money without knowing who he is. But Alpha had made massive contributions here and Senor Tropicana had never even spoken with him.

    I too, although completely removed from this post till 7am this morn felt that something wicket this way comes. I had no painting fall off my wall but felt vibrations before, during, and after the occurrence also

    However I still cant reconcile a possible 100 year bull rally in bea market. will be full of steep enough pullbacks ( or head fakes) along the way!

    I’m not ready to sell based on the painting….But I did feel the vibrations heree in NJ

    Like I’ve been saying all along….beware of the lies on TV about the housing market getting better…it is not….

    The “pending” home sales numbers are a big fat bullshit lie. all they do is get idiots to jump into housing stocks and jack them up 5% to 10% on the day those numbers are announced.

    The real fact is, the banks are teasing people by inviting them in to pretend to give them a loan only to have them in limbo for 30-40 days only to tell them no.

    This practice puts a “pending” home sale on the charts….but no one realizes that a pending home sale never goes “off” the monthly numbers once added (even though the couple were rejected by the bank 30 days later)

    Also beware of the massive Option ARM mortgages foreclosures coming down the road starting now….these will be the Killers….

    On the “pending” home sales numbers lie….

    just as an example, my cousin has been trying to sell his house in Orlando Fl. for one year now. He has had 3 full contracts on it, all 3 contracts tying up 5 months of waiting, only to find out after having a “contract pending” sign on the sign (which pretty much causes a stop in buyers visiting,) all 3 were, in the end, turned down by the bank……yet there were 3 more numbers “added” to the pending home sales numbers…..don’t be fooled by these false bullshit statistics….

    “pending” home sales number mean nothing.

    Good point. All the talk about arm adjustments adjusting upward…. upward to where?

    Most of the problems loans were made 2005 to 2007.

    These were the ARM rates for the period

    1 year 6%
    15 years 6.3%
    30 years 6.5%

    If everyone is so worried about the resets this year, they aren’t going to be higher and in fact they will be set lower.

    More and more this shit is becoming one huge beat up with people spreading around scary sounding swill.

    Most Option ARM mortgage owners opted for interest only payments…. on a 3 or 5 or 10 year option time line. the people that opted for 3 years, those will reset to interest PLUS principle when they reset. These are resetting now and into fall and into winter. The 5 year people, those will be resetting next year and the year after. Alot of people took the 3 years interest only from my research.
    So for 3 years these people, who bought that $500,000.00 house at the top of the bubble in 2006-2007, who have been making interest only payments for 3 years will see the payments go up when it resets since the new payments will have principle added. Then, on that day they will walk away, since the $500,000.00 house is now worth only $225,000.00 (maybe less) and they haven’t even paid one dollar toward that $500,000.00 yet and after 3 years, and 3 years payments, they still owe $500,000.00, but all these people will live in the houses until the last day…….then, it’s back to mom and dads house.

    in otherwords, foreclosures will skyrocket starting now thru the rest of the year. The media is keeping this hush hush…..make a note.

    You are exactly right. I worked in the real estate industry (in Florida) when the “get rich” house flipping phenomenon was in full swing. The 3 year was the flavor of choice because nobody planned on holding longer then a month after the home was completed (new construction sales). People REALLY believed that building a house for $300,000 and selling it for $400,000 six months later would last forever. My partner and I sold 16 houses in ONE day at the peak of the frenzy (not all made it to closing).

    You are right…the resets are coming. I think a lot of people have already walked away, but not everyone.

    I’m sure all of you smart people have heard the theory that your new car depreciates 20% (or whatever %) once driven off the lot. And? What are you going to do, let it get repo’d and f up your credit and ride a bicycle?

    Sure, if you are in way over your head and now can’t afford the mortgage on a house that has gone down in value, walking away and renting some shitbox may be an option. (How many landlords you know don’t do a credit check?) However, it will be a few years (at least) before anyone ever considers lending to you again (car, credit card, etc) and when they do, you’ll be paying out the ass for that little foreclosure (or short sale)on your record.

    Not saying that there won’t be a rise in foreclosures or we’re at the bottom in housing. Just don’t think there is much to this bullshit hype some of you are spewing.

    There will be 2 million more foreclosures….Obama will pass a new bill that resets everyones credit scores back to 800 and we’ll start over, you see, nothing matters in the USA anymore, rules are now skewed to fix any problem…..meanwhile, there will be 250 regional banks seized by the FDIC and so forth…..we will re-visit this topic come April, next year….
