UPDATE: The Official iBC Standard ^^
With regards to equity investments, mind you. If you recall, one week ago, I asked to “borrow your cancer,” research.
Well, much to my chagrin, CGRB got bought out, without my gentleman-like investment. So, in haste, I shall buy a basket of “cancer-lotto” stocks, first thing tomorrow morning.
I know what you are thinking: “how fucking insensitive this Fly guy is, with his joke-like references to cancer.” Hey bucko, we are made from stupid and water. I do not not make believe to be immortal. However, mind you, my words shall last forever, while your comments get deleted by my spam bots.
Here is my buy list:
MEDX, OXGN, EXEL, GHDX, PARD, ALTH, IMGN, CGRB, MDVN, ARIA and CYTK

Did anyone ever figure out what Jeff Macke was talking about yesterday?
Jeff Macke is a genius ….. Neil is a TOOL….
I think you should check your PPT.
DD:
With regards to what?
Fly do u plan to keep this long?
I was talking about how I can know absolutely nothing and still get a job talking about investments on national television. Watch the video, I was rambling, on coke as usual, and I felt the sudden need to show how I don’t know what the fuck is going on. YEA YEA YEA. BTW I was long FAZ from 200 Fly. THE CAR MAKERS MADE ME SEE THE LIGHT!!!! EITHER YOU GET ME OR YOU DONT!!!! *sniff sniff*
Jeff Macke is in a contract dispute with CNBC. His contract is expiring in a couple of weeks.
Also, it’s safe to say he won’t be on Fast Money anymore, or any other CNBC program.
Check out ONTY as well.

ALL OF YOU SHALL KNEEL DOWN TO THE iBC STANDARD, WHICH IS PLACED ON AN iBC BANNER IN THE POST ABOVE.
DO IT NOW OR LOSE YOUR LIVERS!!!!
I just did Fly. Does that mean we can keep our kidneys?
Cancer is US population growth rate. Go out and fuck you assholes. Someone has to keep the ponzi scheme going.
I forgot to add….
A friend of mine works at Nucor Steel. Management had a meeting today and handed out a survey asking what kind of financial shape employees were in on a scale of 1 to 10.
I don’t know if that’s good or bad, but my friends income (largely production based) has dropped over 30% over the past year.
Fly,
Where can I buy one?
With all do respect, DNDN will trump CGRB everyday of the week. Cougar sold out, phase 3 trials not completed(although promising). 1 billion offer – 43 pps. DNDN simply crossing T’s and dotting….will be a 5 bagger easy upon approval(satisfied spa) and ROW partnership within 10 months time. This of course is if JNJ is not blowing the FDA and the crooks that have already slowed DNDN’s productivity. MEDX, great product there will pop soon.
And Yes i do take drugs.
Macke & Rattigan will team up to create a new business channel. The Fly & the DevilzzDog will become regular commentators, censor free.

hoping for a rally over the next few days to slap these suckers on … me thinks June is gonna be yoUggly
WASHINGTON (AP) — The federal seizure of struggling Florida thrift BankUnited FSB is expected to cost the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. $4.9 billion, representing the second-largest hit to the FDIC’s insurance fund since the financial crisis began felling banks last year.
The costliest was last year’s seizure of California lender IndyMac Bank, on which the bank insurance fund is estimated to have lost $10.7 billion.
The Office of Thrift Supervision, a Treasury Department agency, said Thursday that BankUnited FSB reported $1.2 billion in losses last year as defaults on loans piled up. The thrift “was critically undercapitalized and in an unsafe condition to conduct business,” the agency said in a statement.
Coral Gables, Fla.-based BankUnited FSB is the 34th federally insured institution to be closed this year, and the biggest. Florida’s largest banking institution with about $13 billion in assets as of May 2 was sold for $900 million to an investor group led by former North Fork Bancorp Chairman and CEO John Kanas. It will reopen as a newly chartered savings bank called BankUnited on Friday, with Kanas at the helm.
The investor group includes several prominent firms: the Blackstone Group, the Carlyle Group, Centerbridge Partners and WL Ross & Co., the private-equity firm run by billionaire investor Wilbur Ross.

Another round of getting fucked by the banks
TARP Warrant Sale Shows Banks May Reap ‘Ruthless Bargain’

Thank you Tiny Tim Geithner, may we have another. At least give us a reach around.
Most of the dumb ass people in this nation don’t even realize how screwed they are getting by Treasury and their good old boys at the banks. This is bullshit another day of the change we were promised.
I’m out of stocks in the first 1/2 hour. Don’t care if I’m right or wrong. This shit is starting to look like 1987 with the dollar weakening like this that may then crash stocks.
The buck’s weakening may be the result of foreigners not wanting to hold it any more. If that’s the case where’s the money going to come from to fund the US budget and current account deficits.
Better off making money shorting the buck.
Being thinking about this all day and it’s really worried me.
well, well now, dollar seems to be shitting, and no one seems to want natural gas anymore?
UNG now down to 13.67 one dollar away from its 52 week low. seems people would rather buy GM stock on a dice roll instead of the nations future long haul truck power source? weird…..
Back in ’87 it took about five weeks before the ultimate crash on the 19th but during that five week period stocks were whipsawed.
The Friday before the crash on the 19th then Treasury Sect’y. James Baker talked the dollar down against the D-Mark which led to a big dollar crash.
Forgot to add the problem back then of 30 year bonds taking a hit leading to higher rates. Something like what has been happening the last few days to the T-Bond.
Fly you are little late on talking about MEDX. I mentioned it on this board either last week or a couple of weeks ago. I has been a holding of mine since St. Patricks day at 4.50.
They have a nice pipeline, and some good news lately for a lot of drugs in development, and are able to raise cash I don’t usually predict buy outs, but IMO MEDX is a buy out target. They already are in some 50 partnerships with the likes of JNJ, BMY, PFE, LLY, ABT, etc.
The bigs are looking for pipelines like MEDX’s that are making continued progress in the trials. I look for MEDX to continue its march higher.
Although I am mainly a short seller. I often look for certain names, maily small caps, to roll the dice on and hold long. MEDX and KLIC are two that you have mentioned in recent days that I have been holding onto for quite some time.
Yea, TC.
The sheer weakness of the buck is freaking scaring the shit outta today and the trouble is that I’m not sure anyone in the administration Obama speaks to even understands it.
The old man Volcker does but Obama may be listening to Goolsbee and the idiot tax cheat. Recently Goolsbee said that a weak dollar is good for US exports, while the Tax cheat may just know that stocks crashed in 87 without really understanding why.
I’m not even sure Obama even cares about the stock market as his voters don’t really own any and he doesn’t get economics.
I need a rally today to increase my positions in SDS and FAZ.
The dollar went down to a value of 1.6ish to the euro last year. It now is 1.4 to the euro, was of course around 1.26ish earlier this year. Of course the exporters love a weak dollar but it has its drawbacks as well.
But this was going to happen, and here we go.
I still can’t figure out why no one wants UNG?
GA
You ain’t gonna get it today. This market is now primed to be annihilated.
Yea, artist, the buck was at 1.60. However it was also under an entirely different set of circumstances. Foreign capital seem to be leaving through every exit. If that’s the case how the fuck are these guys going to fund 13% of GDP which is in deficit in addition to the current account.
They’re fucked. Then what’s left over for stocks?
I’m square now.
Treasuries selling off again. The long side of the curve is being sold. There is certainly some fear of the soundness and safety of the US in the future, especially with the huge deficts as mentioned earlier, and the dollar being whipsawed. My TBT position is looking good early today.
Over the past weeks the weaking dollar has more or less translated into good things for equities. That tide is turning.
The market will fall as banks, tech and energy start to weaken. They led the rally and they will lead us lower.
omfgitsjd:
Yesterday I heard (on Bloomberg or CNBC) that a “community bank” had its annual FDIC insurance premium increased from $80,000 to $400,000. Not because of any of its bad loans, but to cover the losses like BankUnited.
That’s like my health insurance company raising my rates because of all the overweight, fat, smoking fuckers in the same plan. I have demanded being switched to a healthy people-only plan, but apparently that violates the insurance laws. Yeah, the laws written/paid for by the insurance companies.
I’m not wong, you are! Fly, time to bwing out the “Fut Ubears U Dead” headwine again. Who called a bull too day ? I am wong, but never wrong!
Yeah dumbass spend more money, devalue the currency create more debt screw the future.
You what’s funny is that every Friday you here the same negative news from the blog roll & then on Monday, ok Tues, next week the market will rally anyway & all of you wanting a rally today to go short will end up holding the bag. I’m with Artist that the gov’t is manipulating this market.

Hola – back from another successful gulf fishing haul…
THLD..biotech-good chart-big volume today-and they have CASH…I am long as of today.
Henry – FWIW, I’m back.
j- if you’re still around, 1987 had much higher rates and portfolio insurance. I’m not sure you can draw any inferences from similarities between the two periods. I think we already had our crash although it was very drawn out. now we’re in the rebound, then the “muddle along” period comes next.
Zombie:
Your market views have been sadly missed.
boo boo:
Yea, i know the periods aren’t identical. However the one catalyst we have is a worryingly weak dollar brought about by foreigners not wanting to hold it. If this keeps going it’s a worry for US asset markets and the correction could happen quickly.
Foreigners don’t like what the Administration has done in terms of raping the players in Detroit and handing the loot over to the UAW. It shows they see capital as something to be raped and pillaged.
I’d much rather play China and HK next week.
I don’t think it’s a cert. however I’m happier being out of stocks and adding to my short Dollar and long Aussie/yen risk where I think I can make some decent cash.
I’m short Doll cad and long Aussie as straight dollar plays.
Fuck it I’ll make my year playing currencies than having to worry about Washington stealing cash.
I don’t know how the Fly’s calculator brain extrapolates ideas but the cancer basket is another on a long list of timely KILLER CALLS!!!
I’m trading OXGN watch key levels @ 1.45 1.65 1.90 give or take a few cents.
Looks like it could take a shot at a $2 test to me.
Henry..take a gander at THLD..could heat up here
I needs some vayagras ovah heah!
Also keep a close eye on DVAX. With all the talk of a Flu pandemic they’re catching extra press. But key data on HEPLISAV trial due between today and end of June: )
If it takes 1.20 get interested if it volume surges through 1.30 you’ll have a chance to Bank Coin. Keep it small and have fun!!!
I talk of freedom
you talk of the flag
I talk of revolution
you’d much rather brag
and as the decibels of this disenchanting discourse
continue to dampen the day
the coin flips again and again, and again, and again
as our sanity walks away
all this discussion though politically correct
is dead beyond destruction
though it leaves me quite erect
and as the final sunset rolls behind the earth
and the clock is finally dead
I’ll look at you, you’ll look at me
and we’ll cry a lot
but this will be what we said
this will be what we said
Look where all this talking got us, baby.

Zen,
The greatest contributor to life expectancy in modern civilization is sanitation.
Sanitary air, food, soil and water increases insurance company profitability signifiantly.
I have a friend who works full time and has a beekeeping business back in the midwest that was handed down from generation to generation. Unfortunately for him, he went from 500 colonies down to only 20. He called me to see what I thought about the global phenomena because it’s not isolated to the United States.
I explained that I am more of a physicist than a microbiologist, but am capable of recognizing common denominators with ease. It’s not drugs, sex, or rock n roll that’s killing them.
j – I agree 100% with your macro assessment. I’ve got the same fears. I would re-phrase the “rape and pillage” to something more along the lines of “capital is to be used to accomplish our political goals.”
I believe the capital markets will “ham string” them if they get try to go too far, by raising rates for the treasury, etc. Hopefully they will get the message before it’s too late.
The thing that worries me most is they are continuing to try to reflate the bubble. I understand the need to reflate and pour money into the pit immediately after the collapse, but I don’t see any discussion about the next steps to either pay down the debt or write it off, and get back to growth.
T Moe,
Cool video.
Why would you use a photo of Dalton Trumbo to hawk the PPT?
Wow WPRT just keeps on performing. I bought 500 UNG at 13.75.
Yes KOPN… I just took some off for a trade

Which is the problem. I’m not sure they can get out of it without an 80’s Volcker like deflationary wrenching. That’s for another day though.
Fuck it, it’s bad enough trying to figure a stock is going up or down than worrying about political risk as a result of bad policy decisions.
I’d much rather play China and emerging markets where they’re at least following some supply side economics.
omfgitsjd:
Dude, for some reason US bees aren’t having sex or whatever they do, so Australian beekeepers are airfreighting Aussie bees to have sex with yours (true). Perhaps yours need a decent dose of bee Viagra to get them going again.
Added IMGN @ 7.75
Volume really picking up in OXGN.
Aussies are really thoughtful and considerate people. Most people are.
There are significant portions of australian land that aren’t being subjected to the ecophagy, therefore their assistance may be needed after the war, if it’s even possible.
The consequences will be dire in the near term though.
omfgitsjd:
Yup. It’s all those bees who don’t wash their hands properly:
One of the greatest sources of threat to bees has been the bloodsucking parasite known as the varroa mite that attacks young and adult honeybees by puncturing holes in their bodies and transmitting diseases and viruses. The result is that these attacked bees often having shortened life spans and deformed wings and abdomens. A varroa mite infestation can wipe out a bee colony within a few months.

THLD…has new fucking boat written all over it…go you little slut…!!
Light light volume. No one wants to play. Mom and pop money is flowing out of treasuries and into cash, cd’s is my guess.
There is also some money chasing high yield bonds. Mostly the institutions I would guess, as retail brokers do not know how to play the bond market.
Dammit just made 16% on OXGN, thanks for the heads up. Just riding the wave not investing on it.
Moe:
Is there a junk bond ETF.
j: yes HYG, JNK, PHB

What if Pimco was just trying to test out a model by making the AAA comments? I would not be surprised.

Hate to tell you this, but I did get 20,000 shares of Lehman in March at 0.032. It’s up to 0.06, should I sell ? LOL.

I like the pile of gold bricks, but would suggest a portrait of Andrew Jackson on his white charger in the middle of that.
Not too crazy about that weird design right beneath the gold brick pyramid… looks like something torn off a dead SS officer’s lapel in late ’45.
