Just my $0.02 FWIW, (if you are daytrading completely disregard this), I see no reason to be playing the long side in this market. Yes it’s tough to short when the squeezes hit but the market bias is lower. We have had zero follow through days, hell, the 5-day averages are still down. Trying to catch the squeeze up is a crap shoot.
I may just be dim and missing opportunity, but the only thing that I see working in this market since August is shorting overbought and shorting breakdowns. I may be slow but I haven’t made a red cent trying to buy a bounce. Done alright on the short side though.
If it’s working for you keep it up. If you are struggling, then take this into consideration. I didn’t just come up with this off the cuff. It was hard fought and paid for in the battlefield believe me. I have the scars to prove it.
ps, we will eventually get a bear market rally worth trading. A follow through day on volume will most likely kick it off.
