Whoo-Hoo!
Those were some kick ass employment numbers. For the month of December, only 524,000 people were fired—keeping the national unemployment rate at a lowly 7.2%. And, to make matters better, the November fired data was revised up to 584,000 people getting the ax.
Mind you, 524,000 folks is less than 600,000 and 700,000.
People, I got to tell you, this is great news for the markets. Sure, if you factor in temp workers and other losers, the unemployment rate is about 12%. But remember, Obama is going to print $1 trillion dollars, in order to make new sewer caps and underground pipe fittings.
We’re saved!
Most of my Wall Street buddies, who are recently out of work, will likely take Obama up on his construction machinations and put down their 24 karat commission pens for a nice yellow hard hat.
Hell, I expect the market to punch the life out of the bears today, as Wall Street rejoices and basks in the glory of such a prodigious number.
Think about it: it could have been worse.
With that being said, after enjoying today’s trading session, I’ll be sure to scurry on over to the local pub, with a few of my Wall Street buddies, in order to celebrate this fine number. God willing, we may be able to share our good nature with some blue collar folk. I am sure they feel just as rambunctious, as the coked out money managers at Legg Mason putting in market orders for DRYS this morning.

AA earnings come out monday if my earnings calendar is right, and with the recent way the dingleberried hosers have been moving the market, it, could release o.k. news and drop 20% or release horrible news (worse than we know as of right now) and it rally 10%…..
What happened to the old days where when bad news came out about a stock you could short it with 100% certainty it would go DOWN….not up…..
Gold is already headed slightly lower for now….
Just trimming the fat…we all know we needed it with obesity rates so high these days. Its good to know Bill Miller will be taking my DRYS shares off my hands that I started buying at 9.40 and last buy at 14.89. What scares me is how well my trading has started this year…feels like the market has already gone full retard…

I just got here this morning and wanted to ask a question about your PPT from your previous post. I was thinking the same thing as this post:

I looked at those tops stocks and they are way overbought for me to trade them. I dont think I can do anything with them is my thought. Is the PPT finding stocks close to their tops and bottoms?
When I learned momentum trading from Brian Shannon, he and the group he used to work for created a system that located 4 types of stocks: overbought, in consolidation, oversold, in accumulation or some such order. I used that system for a while and would follow the stocks in accumulation/consolidation for a move that I could get and ride up or down.
I am just trying to figure out what to do with these PPT numbers. Your PPT results for AMGN which I bought was a ‘ buy’ and so far it has been going up but it was not a ‘ strong buy’. I am thinking stocks that are ‘strong buys’ on your PPT…are overbought, cant buy them, wait for pull back ?

All of the top 10 stocks have been buys for awhile. The point of showing the top 10 is to display to you what stocks have been working, not necessarily what is best to buy now.
I’ve noticed some really neat methods, in order to identify breakouts, using the system, such as finding big hybrid movers just prior to it reaching a “3” or buy rating.
However, at the end of the day, it is not the final authority on making investment decisions. It is a great tool and it will cut down research time dramatically. However, you still need to do some extra hw and utilize discipline.
So, if you want to pay 3x as much for food and energy, go ahead, support taxcuts for the
richpeople who pay all the taxes instead of investing in new employment opportunities for the economy.^^^^^^^^^
Or rather, support your local Innumerates Anonymous to help “Cybertropic” and those similarly afflicted.

It also occurred to me that perhaps you were looking at these top stocks for your clients and long term investment ideas. Whereas I got really burned with that strategy in 08 and just do momentum stocks now…in and out in a day or a few days. I am too afraid to hold anything for very long.
I do think the example I had of AMGN …being a buy or a hybrid score of 3.03 might be a good place to ‘ look for buys’ to ride up for a while. That level may have just broke out and still has room to grow.

I am not very optimistic on the markets.

Sorry Sr. Fly I didnt mean to insult you about buying performing stocks if that is what I did. Guess I was thinking about normal money managers that I have dealt with and NOT YOU. I imagine you manage other people’s money very much like you manage your own…SHORTING OIL and SELLING everything…..while riding some inverse ETF’S or whatever.
I love those ETF’s sorry but I am hooked on them. I always have a couple of them going on …along with other stocks. I made 6% on them yesterday and am riding up TZA right now from 45.90

I’d like to thank Devildog for helping me save TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars today. If he didn’t post he was turning bullish for 2 days, I would definitely bought the open off the jobs # and lost a ton of money. Instead I did the anti-Devildog trade and shorted the open and just covered. Banking major coin.
