In the year of The Ox, The Great Panda shall be laid to famine and fire. Through pestilence and iron, may the necessitous beg for cheese and bread. Through wit and wile, the less fortunate shall be suppressed to conscription.
In the year of The Tiger, The Red Deer shall burn under a cloud of administration. Inasmuch, The Eagle will fall and shall be cast aside under the sharpest blade, delivered by the affluent. Through dirt and rubble, The Great Satin shall rise again, after titanic expense to the hoi polloi.

are you sure you were the one kicking the D&D kids down the stairs?
Great Satin shall ultimately be vanquished by Vicious Velour.
soren do you realize that is $10 more than the beannieville system costs?, you should have done your research before announcing it at this price.

The unknown must always be intimated
By something known, something beyond intellect
Frightening if it were not, something craved
Beyond comprehension, disconcerting if it were not.
An explanation of our explanations,
A facility to predict our own predictions,
Preferring uncertainty to responsibility
The way you see and you and I shall probably see
Identically only in the fleeting conditions
Of synchronicity of a rare initiatory probability.
Yet the denied fear rises inevitably to elation:
The semi-sacred symbols, tokens forged on the COALS
Of uncertainty; the halting expansion
Past the comprehension which is its own limitation.
and in the year of the Polar Bear, little Japanese men in white suits will see their hair fall out and their fu manchu’s punched off when their chopsticks are taken away and they are forced to give up eating sushi and drinking sake in favor of salt peter until they understand the significance of their own genitalia in the fornication process or learn about artificial insemination for lesbian couples …. as predicted by Nostradamus:

Flyradamus,
Eloquent, poignant, yet not overbearing post
Needs more sage, less salt.
What evil plans is the Great Satin weaving? What yarns will he spin? No matter! He will fold like a sheet when we meet in the Great Spin Cycle! I will cut him to ribbons! He is a stain on the very fabric of society!
BHP has had a 50% move since the lows in a 1 1/2 weeks. Odd no?
These fucking markets better than sex.
We now have a firm with ONLY 6 billion in debt working in an industry where the other big players such as Rio fucked up with debt and the small players can’t get financing.
RIO bought Alcan for around 40 billion and the lookalike, Alcoa is worth 5 bill.
Meanwhile the brokers have come out today and placed a A$43 minimum price tag on BHP’s stock.
If there is any upward arrow in the world economy over the next coupla quarters or if 2010 looks “okish”, this is a 70/80 buck stock.
Fly it may be time to revisit NOV.
The only thing that could change all this is an implosion in the bond market, which I am thinking is increasingly unlikely as that event can only happen if the rest of the world wasn’t expanding liquidity, but it looks like they are also getting on the band wagon.
eat your turkey fast… it soon starts to stink …

I love Great Satin Sheets.
I too have stumbled upon such revelations after quaffing off my third bottle of Caymus “Special Selection.”
Cheers to the New Year.
______
FLY has gone off the deep end, drunk on his probable triple digit gains for the year.
Getting long TWM. Get your shorts on boys. Do not let the drunken ramblings of the one called The Fly persuade you to forget this market is one mean bitch.
The Great Satin is not glossy enough.
How was your thanks giving , Jake?
We’re having ours next Thursday with our American friends as they’re away at the moment.
I was out early this morning doing a little research. I drove around to different retailers to take a look at the crowds. There were not as many people as I expected. Very few at Sears. And, I live where the economy is doind a lot better than the rest of the nation. Shit people around here are still hiring especially tech jobs.
Anyone else have any info on the retail situations around their neck of the woods?
Absolutely awesome. Melissa Lee clearly said, “Dun & Bradstreet will replace Liz Claman (in the S&P500)”.

You gotta wait for the numbers. The US, last time I looked is a big place with lots of people in different areas. Here’s my guess, if you went to Detroit you’d find even less people hanging around malls.
And anyway, what’s the big surprise if people aren’t shopping as much as they were? There’s a recession. So it’s nothing new.
Here’s the only thing that counts. C is up again and that’s all I fucking care about.
Yes to C being up again. Lets see double digits soon enough
Nostradumbass has nothing on the Fly!
From the front lines, re: China….Long FXP
Hey xxxxx. For the first time in my 12 years of traveling to China, it is REALLY bad here. All kinds of factories shutting down. They claim main reason is because USA companies are either canceling orders or are not paying. Thousands of factories have closed and many millions of workers unemployed. Realestate has also slowed here. And as you probably know, Macao is sucking wind.
WTF is wrong with you people up in ValleyStream, NY?
Looks like things are back to normal now, I mean CHK is filing more shelf offerings like they used to. Fucking criminal.
So I just spoke to a friend who shit the bed and got dropped from his big paying job about 12 months ago.
So he has been trying to work something out with “all” of these ” Government Programs” available to ailing homeowners in trouble.
IT IS BULLSHIT… This fucking government isnt doing a thing he said. He called me for help and called three different agencies on three way. Talk about fire loops to jump through. The “HOPE” program bullshit. They told him they fill out an application and send to his “lender for approval” bullshit. We called his lender and they said he has to make a huge payment before anyone would even look at his application. The government has forwarded all of their crap work and BS programs to half assed lenders who fucked shit up in the first place.
The moral of the story this is all just front and there is 0 help for troubled home owners. Trust me call and you have to hear how the conversations are outlined. Its truly unethical.
Increasing my SSF to 127. Great example of the superiority of American ideals and culture. “Yes we can!”

WMT 55.84, -0.85, -1.5%) worker at its Long Island store has died after being trampled by a throng of unruly shoppers looking for Black Friday bargains, according to media reports Friday. At least three other people were injured in the incident, the reports said. The exact cause of death was not known yet. Black Friday takes its name from the profits retailers hope to rack up at the start of the holiday shopping season.
will that %$#@&* UYG get to 10 before options expiry?
That’s just reason #4,326 for “Not Living on Lawn Guyland” Dog. I’m only surprised no one grabbed the guy’s liver on the way to the Express Checkout.
____
J– T-Day was great thanks, as this year was done with a minimum of annoying relatives and snarly traffic problems. A bonus: we stayed very far from Valley Stream.
___
Jake,
I, for one, am very happy that you “escaped” Long Island.

Anyone else looking at USO here? I picked some up at $41.55. I figure I’ll hold it in hopes oil goes up. If not, I will sell around support at 40.90.
Looks like the Fly has found Coleridges stash…. put down the pipe and back away from the table…
Should I be selling C today or wait till Monday. Need advice!
Rags make excellent Christmas gifts. I’ll sell you four rags for the unbelievably low price of $19.95. Act today and I’ll throw in four additional rags absolutely free!!!
Hurry!! They won’t last long at this low price!!!
ShamWOW!!!
Is Calvino’s translator available to translate the Fly’s post above?
DEVILDOG has been fully deballed by the biggest rally in history! This guy is the biggest loser ever.
Hope you all had a chance to join me in the 70% increase in FNM today. Definitely turned out to be a good buy this morning.
Look for a gap up monday am … if you’re a trader, I’d go the other way there, for a couple days at least
omfgitsjd,
Are you keeping it over the weekend?
Do MCC’s cans look exceptionally large and yummy today?
Her cans are spectacular….
yeah, I kep it
Same here
This squeeze is a little more egregious than I thought it would be. I figured a gap up, some profit taking, and then a slow migration upwards. Oh well, I’ll take the money anyway.
Being up this much does not bode well for monday but hell I guess we can take off another 300 up for all I care. I am hedged with a slight long bias commodities and AAPL.
Well lookie here. USO is flying in after hours. The fuckers played a head fake today knowing they had low volume. Higher commodities on their way thanks to the lower dollar.
Fly wins again, even when he appears to be sleeping.
does anyone think the gold miners may have bottomed?
Wish it weren’t true, but I was just saying the other night that I would NEVER go to a Walmart on black friday b/c every year, something happens at a Walmart, and it always has to do with the rowdy crowds who may be in line one second, and then a massive bottleneck through the doors the next. I feel for the family of that employee that got trampled. He’s there just trying to make some money (probably even a seasonal employee at that) and dies doing it. Hopefully the store’s cams got good pics of those who broke the door down b/c I’m sure that man’s family would want some sort of charges pressed against them. If people who steal stop signs, which then lead to a car accident and injury or death, are held accountable for those injured or dead, then I don’t see how it couldn’t hold true here.
On a lighter note, I think retail sales may exceed expectations, solely on the heels of the Fly and his family. Just you and Mrs Fly buying gifts for the family should boost up the retailers next week (as you’ve previously mentioned).
Hope everyone has a safe rest of their Thanksgiving weekend.
BTW: Not one of you asshats bothered to “deirddle” my above riddle.
It is a fucking riddle, turkey lovers.
I solved the riddle quickly. The answer was that the author was still drunk on Wild Irish Rose.
Then my portfolio kept hitting higher limit sales and I had to quickly buy shit that was going up before buying all the shit on those christmas lists.
Is that your costume, or did you get hit by a Bianchi bicycle?

Next year, China gets deballed.
Following year, USSA gets deballed…
After that, I defer to Art Cashin…
“Never bet on the end of the world, it only happens once. But it may not be a bad idea to find a bomb shelter.”
My best guess…

Red Deer: Britain
Snow Leopard: Pakistan
etc.
Shit, I thought the Red Deer was Obama. FWIW, the Red Rose is England in most analogies.
