Open Field Running for Oil

Let’s face it already. Oil is not going to $225 by 2012, like that Oppenheimer analyst predicted. It’s going to $400 by 2010!

Nothing will stop the transfer of wealth, from west to east. Know that and understand your stupid existence is gay. There is nothing you or your meaningless friends can do about it.

So, why not profit off the death of the car?

Short [[GM]] or [[F]]?

Betting against automobile makers, especially American, seems to be a cogent long term investment strategy. Or, sell short [[CLMT]], producer of jet fuel. As you know, all airlines go to zero.

On the long side, just own [[RIG]], [[NOV]] and other oil drilling plays. However, own the big ones. The smaller players get phased out, eventually.

Also, there is a whole list of oil plays that never trade lower, like [[ARD]], [[CWEI]] and [[OXY]].

Then you have the natural gas stocks. Personally, I hate natty. We have an unlimited amount of that shit. Any spike in natty is a result of pure manipulation. Regardless, stocks like [[CHK]], [[SWN]], [[ECA]] and [[UPL]] have enriched their shareholders this year.

However, seeing the fervor in natty, I am not against scalping a few trades.

My watch list includes:

[[NGAS]], [[OMNI]], [[GMXR]] and [[NGS]].

Separate from oil, I think [[LFC]] and [[CHL]] are too extended at these levels. In other words, long [[CTRP]] and [[FXP]] works for me.

A very good book related to the subject at hand is, “The Coming Economic Collapse” by Stephen Leeb.

Guy Adami said Ford is going to $9. Never bet against him. Look at Mastercard, he has been on that all year!

    ININ is ripping today

I still like this communications software company to go to 15 soon.

I feel like the “shooting at Iran boats” oil spike is some bullshit, although I do believe it will rally hard into the Fed meeting, where oil prices will meet their short term demise.

    Fly,

The smaller drillers will likely get bought out, not phased out…

I don’t think we have an unlimited supply of Nat. Gas. Highest decline rates in the world: Texas followed closely by Canada. Once transportation of NGLs gets figured out then supplies will increase.

I personally seem to have an unlimited supply of Natural Gas, but nobody seems interested…

    Fly,
Have you been reading marketing flyers and stuff from Marty Weiss?

    Ouch on $400.

I’ll have to sell my 1 ton dualy diesel pickup (with the extra fuel tanks) that has the camper on top, and pulls the trailer for the Zodiac (loaded with gold bricks)..[ http://www.komar.org/faq/zodiac-boats/ ]..

Might have to breakdown and buy an economical gas guzzling SUV, green-colored, of course.

Ford and GM are absolutely screwed one way or another. Research their pension plans and how with all the baby boomers nearing retirement age, they’re going to have to cut pension in half and then in half again. I completely think that $400 oil is a possibility, because there will be a point when oil companies can’t make money by pricing it at such where the people buying them are so few, because the gas companies buying from the refineries aren’t willing to pay enough, because not enough people will pay $4.80 a gallon. When it gets to that point, either the demand is going to drop, or gas will begin to be priced $15 a gallon, realizing that people qut their jobs and became hermits because they couldn’t afford to go to work, and that only pricing it as a high end product that only the rich will buy, will keep them in business.

And you have a bunch of old people retiring. Guess what? Old people that retire don’t have to go to work every morning, and they won’t use up gas. I think oil will have to move to either extreme. Right now I’m long CHK, RIG and OXY. I think peak oil is not going to behave like the average Joe thinks. There is a point where the price goes above the oprtimal supply/demand, and less money is made, but the drillers costs are also going to get more expensive. I think that the small fries are going bankrupt in the drillers because of costs, and difficulty to find. I still like the providers of rigs, instruments and drilling equipment. Look at some names like how CPX and PDS have done this year.
I’d be interested to see who supplies RIG and NOV, their equipment.
