THE DEVIL ALWAYS SMILES WHEN YOU NEED A FRIEND

I bought $FEYE calls today, on top of the 6 new positions I took yesterday.

If you know my history with this stock, I’m pretty sure I’ve never made money in it. If I did, it’s certainly been drowned out by a multitude of losses.

While your “Do Not Trade” lists are filled with nearly all publicly traded companies, mine is made up of two: $FEYE, $TSLA.

Disclaimer: Long both.

My last trade in $LNKD expired on the Friday before the buyout news on Monday. Epic story.

Had several in my room that bought the extra week of time and made a fortune. Otherwise, fuck that stock.

$LNKD remains my best options play ever returning 1186% in one day – 12/5/13 bought DEC 230 calls for .30 and sold them the next day for 3.86. Stock went from 218 to 235. Missed the trade you are talking about. I took the same expiration as you. Sucked!

I remember that move like it was yesterday. I was loaded in the 225 $LNKD weekies that expired that Friday. I had bought them the week prior and was down big going into that day. Sold them when I b/e and left over 180k on the table. Still haunts me to this day…….

More than slightly annoyed. Took WB, YY, and RENN (before the move), but missed JD by pennies. Now Im missing JD by dollars. Congrats

awanka – yeah a few weeks ago – as might be seen if looking back – had a bunch of CRM puts – rode them through a small downturn as I held them with conviction -and them cashed them in for hundreds of percents when it tanked on the first time of the rumored TWTR bid. Today – was reminded of the lesson it is sometimes better to hold the planned trade all the way through with conviction as I sold the calls yesterday for the loss and this morning – like the previous time – if held – they would have been worth between 400 and 500 percent.

Fwiw… Was approached with more conversations and questions about the financial markets and stocks today at work then I usually have in a month or more easily. Mostly from people who barely understand how to read a chart. Mild curiosity mostly, but definitely stood out as a change from the norm. Took it as a good sign towards some increased public participation.

Wouldn’t that actually signal a top in the making? Although if were looking at burritos and shippers this is where the top is made (turds – per OA).

Maybe a near term top… but I meant more seemed positive towards the longer term break out narrative. The questions were pretty varied and not enthusiasm like. One guy (who I think will be an indicator eventually) asked if he should move his 401k out of the market because the tv says the elections will make it crash… Another woman was curious about gold because her husband bought some earlier this year, but she had no idea about the extent of the gold Bear and how silver related to it… Probably the most curious guy owns some blue chip dividend stocks that a broker put him on, and is wants to learn some more. Was asking about books to start with and online broker questions. No one was talking about stock tips they heard from a cab driver or anything… but it was very noticeable that more people are starting to get curious.
