ALL WEDGED UP

BAD-GRANDPA-WEDGIE$NFLX pretty strong off the open. This pattern has been setting up all year, and $97 seems like the breakout spot.

Everyone loves a good wedge! Currently watching NKE, LGF, JRJC, DIS, BOX which also have some nice wedges; and FCX, BABA, YHOO on the lower time frame wedges.

How can the Fed possibly ever significantly raise rates with $19T in debt needed to be refinanced in the future? I don’t know the maturity dates for the debt, but we aren’t running surpluses everything month.

BIDU is coiling up again – but hard to get excited given the past 6 weeks.

    Jeff,
I have a big position in MBLY. Would you add to here or would you just let it play out?

    Thanks,

Why V now? Up against overhead resistance. Wouldn’t you wait for it to clear resistance or pull back to bottom of current range?

Looking to buy best of breed financials here…premium is cheap and risk to reward is manageable. I prefer to buy ahead of breakout. Stock has been well bid since 78 and now that the Fed is out of the way, the stock should move thru prior highs without much effort.

Interesting, thanks for the thoughts. I like the “premium is cheap” aspect. These two are my favorites in financials at the moment, though I hold some SQ.

The other side of the coin has $BOFI and $CF earnings trades going out as zeroes. And I have completely f*d these $MAR 72.50’s by leaving two shots at $73 on the table.

Bought $POT calls for September. Another nice little wedge on the daily. Bid on some $CARA stock.

On a day like today, last year I would have said screw it all and sold everything to salvage what I could – mainly due to emotional trading (almost always sold at the lows), not having a plan, and having positions that were too large. Took a while but definitely have a much better trading strategy for options and makes waiting through days like this bearable. I still may be wrong, but so far my thesis for why I bought the stocks is still intact, so I hold. Emotional me still wants to sell, but I can reason beyond the emotion and keep my trades on. Also, buying more time has helped

Sometimes, why? Don’t mean to be dense. Could be a language barrier thing. What exactly did you mean re: first solar?

Thanks for the clarification. Terminology can be confusing. The most confusing is twitter with abbreviations. Someone says BTFD. Bears will read Break the F down, and bulls read buy the F’ing dip.
