Small caps are behaving quite differently today. Divergent from the downside action this morning. That’s usually a good tell at this stage of the game.
Seems like #FANGBANGING here is the sport of choice from what I gather across the internets, but here’s a quick list of longs and shorts I like from here:
Longs: $USG, $VDSI, $FLML, $GPRO, $PAH, $POT
Shorts: $W, $GRUB, $MNST, $TWX, $MDLZ

I started buying into TNA over the past 2 days. Assuming we don’t go into a death spiral the valuation of small caps is about 10% lower vs EPS than large caps. Additionally, I posted a note yesterday detailing the breakdown of earnings for companies with > 50% exposure to the USA and its drastically better than the ones with more overseas exposure. So you have low valuation + better growth + larger pullback. Seems like a decent chance this rally has legs, again barring cataclysm in the world.
I picked up March 18 puts in ETSY a couple days ago specifically for earnings announcement today. I’ve seen how the market has reacted to these newly IPO’ed companies that have missed earnings and are the classic Silicon Valley dumpers (FIT was another thought of mine). Hoping they miss.

I guess Woodshedder was right but they miss earnings by (0.03) and guide lower for revenue over the next year, yet they’re up 15% in the after hours. It was an extremely small position (0.08% of portfolio).
My WYNN & SHAK continue to impress and I regret that I bot ITM put spreads (which are no longer!) to hedge…..
What are you seeing as a catalyst/ reasoning on the short side for MDLZ?!

Hey OA – Also, what do you like about the set up in USG? Looks like it’s hanging in there today – it bounced off of rising support and could move up if the market doesn’t shit the bed
Homebuilders are perking up, and I love trading this stock when they do. Also, the 30min chart has the pattern I like to trade.
A couple of short ideas that caught my eye:
$BAX, $AMLP, $MRVL, and $CUBE.
Longs I have $ADM in addition to OA’s ideas.
Ended up playing April $11 Puts in $AMLP. Targeting $8 with a stretch target quite a bit lower if it follows the channel through that support. Plan to manage risk around $10.50.

Was this just a gap fill on SPX from 2/19/16 or the start of something more?
Action in small caps is promising and selling volume in SPY is weak so this ‘might’ be just a pullback not a trend change. Sitting flat since yesterday and waiting for more info. If things stay relatively muted through weds/thurs will probably go long but def not today
let’s hope crude and markets decouple tomorrow cuz oil getting slammed.

Probably not the most unbiased way of asking it. But people tend not to respond to other posts on these boards so thought throwing in the word crash would be a starting point.
Hey – I meant to ask you about your son that had the spectrum diagnosis. Did he / does he have issues with maintaining eye contact? Reason I ask is we meet with a homeopathic doctor about my son’s spectrum diagnosis and he said “I’ve seen lots of kids with autism and your son doesn’t have it. He looked at my right in the eyes with an intense stare when he was leaving. Most likely he has ADHD.”
My opinion, the eye contact thing is an indicator, but not THE indicator. My daughter makes eye contact and can have conversations, but she has issues that can’t be explained – I think it has to do with her being a girl and not having learned how to fit in good enough. She is getting IQ tested today at Kennedy Krieger.
