In light of how average Joe has played this stock since IPO, I find it very much appropriate to be on the other side of your liquidation.
As you well know, even your favorite and most reliable financial professionals got this stock wrong from the start. Therefore, now that everyone is liquidating, running for the hills, and lowering price targets, I find it appropriate to step in and buy here. Why? Because everyone has been wrong from the start, why trust them now? They told you to avoid this IPO based on valuation, and only after it screamed to $50 with nobody in did they admit to getting it wrong. Even douchebags like @AlphaMatt18 were coaxed into being a Twitter bull. Once retail money chased up, they are now being executed on the way back down, and thinking “they were right, this stock is going to $30.”
This has been a great social experiment, one that we’ve been pretty well in tune with. I like my chances betting against a room full of idiots here.

I was thinking denial… Only six days to earnings and at that point sentiment means little.

I covered 1/3rd today, but I am still short TWTR from the low 60’s. Thanks to the high vol I had some very wide Mar call spreads to protect the upside and i sold some OTM puts on part of the position to reduce costs. Most of the stock is still locked up till may. It does seem pretty expensive to me.

I know there was always the risk of big moves during earnings announcements….but how do they expect investors to return when it seems every other stock moves 20% Lord knows which way. Just totally casino now
several names (and this probably isn’t any different than any other quarter) reversing recent trend action once earnings are out. aapl, nflx, goog, twtr, now lnkd. its like leading people into the trade, allowing people to chase and then let them get waxed on the earnings…up or down doesn’t matter…just reversing the action that led up to earnings. (not always the case, but has happened in a lot of the names I’ve been watching)
ever notice how price action leading up to earnings led to pain after the earnings. aapl, nflx, goog, twtr, now lnkd. if you positioned yourself for a move in the opposite direction…you won. Not always the case, but this time around, those that chased into a trade before earnings experienced the pain immediately.

this morning’s move back up from $50 should help make you feel pretty good. Incidentally, it was printing below $50 after hours yesterday.
That uncomfortable feeling isn’t too uncommon I think. Just be sure to position size accordingly if that feeling becomes too uncomfortable. Good luck!

He borrowed the money to join AHWOA as a piker, and with the subscription long since expired, his internet connection about to be cut off, and mother breathing down his neck for her money, he is desperately trying to get his last remaining option trade ($ANGI) in the money before expiry. His Oedipal-like obsession for ANGI (and Janet Yellen) forces him to impersonate successful iBC posters in the hopes of winning ANGI’s admirations. He is lonely, sad and lies in a litter of fast-food wrapper detritus and wodded kleenex.

Nice 100% gain in March TWTR calls. Now the hard part, take it and run and potentially punk myself out of a 300% gain or stay greedy and potentially punk myself to the downside. I never get this one right. I’m such a piker. Bleh. The whole sell 1/2 thing is so playing not to lose.

In all fairness TWTR hit High of 71 in AH(pre earnings) and dropped below 50 AH (24hrs later). That was a swift (-42%) correction and a win for the Bears.

earnings 2/20…I have 80 calls sitting on the $12 strike…will evaluate next week, but doubt I hold that many into earnings unless they’re down to pennies and it becomes a yolo at that point.

Now that I think about it, I might sell some $14 calls against this position. Look at the pricing of options for earnings week vs. next weeks…clearly pricing in volatility. Can’t get anything for next weeks $13 or $14 calls, but go to earnings week and you got something to work with.
