With uncanny timing, my last post set a multitude of robots into motion earlier this morning. I’ve now become one of an elite class. An individual that can carelessly top tick a market, just with his/her presence.
Adding this to my profile:
Mr. Jinx – Keep this individual away from your ticker symbols. By the time he notices a stock has taken off, he will post the ticker symbol with many exclamation points, as if to cheerlead the stock to a new plateau. Unfortunately, Mr. Jinx’s timing could never be worse. Immediately after leaving his remarks, the underlying stock will be immediately sold, taking all your beloved gains with it. Please keep your ticker symbols away from Mr. Jinx, and encourage him to keep his eyes away from the market.
For a good laugh… http://www.cnbc.com/id/21250372
Here is what that looked like via S&P 500 on 10/11/07.
When the market can sense “asshat” in it’s midst, it begins to cleanse.

Yoicks! That’s the coup de grace for CNBC
No wonder their ratings are at +10yr lows.
If you don’t recognize that picture, or know the name, then I am truly a senior citizen in this biz.
I believe Mr Kneale was a frequent reader of iBankCoin.
hilarious. Dennis “the Jynx” Kneale
Mr Asshat mentioned IBC by name in a cheesy segment called “Blog You” when he was Mr invincible on CNBC. I think Senor Fly even has a promo video featuring that piece.
I remember those days. Loved every minute of it.
I got a mention from him the following day when I tweeted how IBC had gotten under his skin. Loved it.
someone better not jinx fslr. i’d like to either get out of my weekly sept’s or rick roll them into oct’s. same with deck.
Good GRPN entry here on break of 11.88
Ah Dennis, here’s the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vqR_fO7GEs
Otherwise known as ‘the cooler’.
ROFLMFAO
The Kneale jokes never get old. Great stuff.
OA, I haven’t arrived home to catch After Hours, so if you covered this, I apologize: In the spirit of remaining positive, is it possible that Dow 60/70 is the new 40/50 ‘grind’? If so, I’d like to propose naming it the ‘Geraldo Grind’…. http://www.nydailynews.com/1.1404964
HAH…clever
I second this!
ROFL!
Is it too late to get in DECK ? I gave up and sold early,,, shame on me.
Lesson learned? Why chase here?
Thought target was 66, so maybe still good to get in and ride the leg….. Thanks.
What’s the expression? Don’t step over dollars to pick up pennies?
Breakout on DECK has already happened. You want to already be in it for that initial move, otherwise you’ll be paying up as option premiums inflate due to the breakout. How do you even manage that trade if you chase it here? What’s your reference points? Is your risk / reward favorable given those reference points?
There are other setups out there that haven’t broken out yet that will yield you dollars in comparison to the pennies you may get from DECK right here.
my biggest losses always come from chasing (aside from buying spy puts when the TA pattern said downside is coming because the Fed always blew them up)
It would be really cool if AHWOA had a transcript of the chat going on. Those of us who can’t participate live don’t get to appreciate the funny comments. Does live stream offer this in any way?
JP,
The move was easier had you got in with us at $59.
66-59=7
If you get in here at 64…
66-64=2.
Even if you made money on it getting in her, respectfully, I would consider this a horrible trade. Even if you risked a buck to make two.
Thanks OA and Darren. 1. I got in at 59ish with you and sold before breakout happen. 2. I don’t use option, only stocks, so for me even 2 points up can ( could, would) produce nice profit. I’m a slow learner, but I listen.
Kevin…I will look into it.
JP…just remember that when trading breakouts, you gotta try and be aeound for the actual breakout.
Just thinking out loud…but if you bought at 59 to catch the breakout, sold out before the breakout, then bought back in after the breakout was over…you would have been in the stock for anything but the move you initially wanted to catch.
I would think holding the stock would have been easier than the option…but this was probably a good learning experience.
Thanks OA. You are the best teacher. Those kinds of trades happened many, because I trade based on my fear, I believe. Slowly learning to control myself. By the way, how about FSLR, is it too late to get in ? (having target
46) Same this one, I got in 37.5 and sold 40sh. Sounds like I am dumb.
JP,
Never chase. Learn to anticipate.
By the way, because I held UNXL stocks,
I could catch today’s move. Of course sold all. I’m too quick to sell always. Thank you !!
Thank you sir re $MAKO – you told me it was a great find so I knew to be comfortable with it.
lets hope the bulls dont blow their load too early today
Thoughts on LULU as a setup if were to draw back down to $72 range?
I like that chart.
seems to line up with your sentiment chart pretty well. problem is, i think i missed the ideal entry point. is now still an acceptable time to enter this trade?
btw.. thanks for DECK (twice now). thinking about exiting this if it hits about $65.75
Love ‘dem profits.
