Boy, based on the quality of conversation, I’d wager that people aren’t liking the feel of a market that goes down a quarter of a percent.
I’m a buyer here of CTRP and OVTI August calls, and managed to get some ONVO today at $6.45.
Planning a few more moves here, stay tuned.

What are the strike prices?
You can figure that out if you look at the chains.
How? By looking at the volume?
36 and 18.
Ok, thanks. So when you say “Im a buyer here of CTRP and OVTI August calls”, I just go to Aug. and look for the highest volume at a price that would be possible by expiration?
No. I don’t pick the strikes with the most volume. I pick a strike or two out the money.
OA, I know you are more of a short term swing trader. But wondering in your long term hold positions, do you have any good dividend stocks you hold simply for the dividend? Appreciate the feedback.
Yes, in fact I had a system we used for awhile trading covered calls on high yield stocks.
any thoughts in sharing the dividend names? I’m planning to allocate a portion of my account to dividends.
I used to trade them, don’t have any now. My opinion has been that they will underperform, and thus far they have.
If you don’t mind ETNs then take a close look at MLPL . I’ve owned it since inception and it has been remarkable…….and no K1s .
Reprices monthly .
Question , Fly suggests EMKR . I like it a little so I bought 15 of the Sept.2.50s for a 1.70 .
Instead of using $6210 in cap(4.14 X 1500=6210) I’m only exposing
$2568 (1.70X 15) .
I like buying in the money when it is almost 1:1 ratio with a pretty good length of time until expiration . Good or bad strategy ?
Meh, I suppose its better than owning stock.
“No. I don’t pick the strikes with the most volume. I pick a strike or two out the money.”
Okay!
Volume in options can be misleading.
how so?
For those without the right tools, you don’t know whether or not that volume was bought/sold or the intent behind the order.
OA,
I followed on CTRP. Are you still holding LULU Aug. call?
Indeud.
Okay, I’ll hold too.
Thanks for your valuable postings, OA.
I like out of the money options also, because of the leverage if it goes right.
Do you have issues with liquidity on the lower priced stocks? Also when using such a short fuse (exp. date) when do you recover some premium, if things go the wrong way? Or just let them expire?
Out
I try to avoid illiquid low priced stocks. Also, I don’t trade options on stocks under $5.
