in2011, bidu bottomed on 7/11/2011 2012 it was 7/17/2012. Looks like it may drop for another week. to $90
How do those years correlate to today?
In 2011 BIDU opened on 7/1/11 at 139. On 7/12 it traded as low as $138.
I think its a much different market structure this year, but I guess we’ll see.
Please explain what you mean by “different market structure”. My assessment is: if China has no bad news, and if BIDU stays above $90, BIDU should go up $10 to $20 within the 2 weeks before 07/23/2013 earnings announcement.

The stock took a hit today, supposedly on a seekingalpha article. Long the stock and been writing the weekly calls, nice premium collection after the drop. It seems to be consolidating here, hoping for a run up to earnings.
This is what I wrote in the comments section of your blog two days ago “I believe we are going to have couple of violent down days beginning of coming week.” I think we achieved that with some more downside tomorrow. I am looking to add back into longs tomorrow. Your thoughts on the monthly calls on GOOG and SBUX?

Holding up well…but not a real fast paced stock. I think making 5% in this stock would be harder and take longer than making 10% in any other…but just an opinion.

Anyway, good to see you’re still in the game. You were unknowingly my first mentor. I’d suspect the 8 SMA will catch some downside tomorrow and offer some opportunity but let’s keep in mind that this is an unusual tape and a short week on low volume so anything goes. I’d rather rely on pivots and remain tactical. If the 8 does not hold then we do have a potential opportunity at 1596.07 which is the 61.8% retracement from the last Bernanke speech and then we also have the VWAP for the last 90 trading days conveniently located at 1590 so there is a range of potential support there but this remains guilty until proven otherwise.
