How can people, who are on strike, immediately apply for unemployment benefits?
Isn’t the fall in continuing claims (as initial claims stay high) an indication that people have used up the allowable unemployment as they have been out of work so long?
“Laid-off workers and aging baby boomers are flooding Social Security’s disability program with benefit claims, pushing the financially strapped system toward the brink of insolvency.” (Washington Post, Aug 21)
