another thought on volatility shorting:
the steep backwardation that VXX currently is experiencing is likely to mitigate next week when the august contracts are gone and we have a september to october roll. far less backwardation in that roll.

That reminds me, as I recall, Boomer (before he was Moober) had a crazy dream the stock market was transformed into a real live rollarcoster and his conclusion was to go to cash!
