Muslim ‘Scholar’ Who Said ‘Killing Gays is Compassionate Thing to Do’ Visited Orlando Mosque in April

Dr. Sheikh Farrokh Sekaleshfar spoke at the Husseini Islamic Center, located on the outskirts of Orlando, back in April of this year.

In the video featured below, the good Dr. very flippantly says a death sentence for gays isn’t something to be embarrassed about and how we must rid ourselves of them now, out of compassion.

This is exactly the sort of 8th century backward thinking that shapes and incites the feeble minded fuckheads, like Omar Mateen, into carrying acts of terror in the name of religion or a perverted distortion of a world view.

This is commonplace in the Middle East, a dark place where goats have more rights than women and gays.

We do need to solve this problem– to find ways we can keep this kind of thing from happening again.

Right now, let’s take a break and watch a dance performance. Our problems will still be here when we finish watching it, if we want to take them up again later.

    This thing here is fun.

Most Americans would vehemently disagree with Dr. Sheikh Farrokh Sekaleshfar but his hate speech is protected by the 1st Amendment. Few countries on this planet have these kinds of protections and freedoms that many have given their lives to maintain. Please remember how precious freedom and liberty for all truly is.

“The price of freedom is eternal vigilance.”

Incitements to violence are not protected by the first amendment.

Incitement to violence must be likely to produce imminent illegal conduct (i.e., illegal conduct in the next few hours or maybe days, as opposed to some illegal conduct some time in the future). It’s illegal to make true threats and incite imminent crimes against anyone and for any reason.

But beyond that, there’s no “hate speech” exception to the First Amendment.

Well GE just invested 3.5 billion dollars in Iran, Wall Street is salivating to get a piece of ARAMCO IPO, Exxon Mobil has good relations with The House of Saud & LOBBYISTS RULE WASHINGTON….Americans blame the opposite parties in power? Everyone points the finger at the other guy? No one is ever to blame – it’s no one’s fault? We are free..to live & let live? Who has the privilege of having a backbone? This is a huge problem….dealing with a culture that lives in the MIDDLE AGES….and Business ignores the obvious & commerce doesn’t care how it makes money?

Well, that is a lot of problems to solve, Bexpo. Just taking one big one that affects other problems also, I think we should have a Constitutional amendment that overturns Citizens United so that lobbyists no longer rule Washington. Since political donations are not required to be transparent, tons of these donations may be coming from other countries whose interests are very different from U.S. interests.

Maybe to get ourselves to face our situation, rather than denying it, we should change the designation “Congress members.” They should be called Fund Raising members, because, in the current system, that is what they are required to spend all their time doing, in order to get re-elected. The only other thing most of them do is to serve the donors who supplied those funds. This is not a government. It’s a Special Interests catering service. We need to change that system.

Fly, I applaud your level-headed commentary on this tragedy.

It is very easy for people to immediately define the event to fit the existing US political narratives. Indeed, there are elements that partisans on all sides can point to, mostly with justification (I will pointedly exclude the notion that well-armed nightclub crowds are a sane solution). But, we face a global, human problem here that we won’t be able to deal with if we corrupt the goal into one of winning a partisan battle in the US.

For example, while homophobia is indeed “8th century backward thinking,” such thinking is not limited to one religion or one area of the world. Regions in Africa with heavy Catholic influence are among the most hostile to homosexual people. Russia’s leaders don’t appear to have any religious reasons behind their support for violence against homosexuals. While most US communities no longer condone violence against gays (and such violence is a Federal crime), examples such as the Philadelphia’s Center City gay bashing case and the frequent reports of hostility and bullying toward gays in schools indicate that 8th-century backward thinking remains in the hearts and minds of many in the US.

It is the religion. That is the problem. The only problem. Sorry to simplify it for you. But life is simple.

So…knowing the Iman’s teach hatred & the West continues to do business with the countries that condone Radical Islamic Teachings. S.A. & Iran & other ME countries…are obvious in their contempt of the West. What is the answer? Donald Trump is gonna stop the oil trade? Donald Trump is gonna stop the Gun Lobby? For years Western companies have turned a blind eye & DO BUSINESS WITH COUNTRY’s THAT ABUSE WOMEN. This is a bigger problem than the local police force & THE FBI. DT will have to fight a lot more than that. WESTERN MONEY is funding our enemies. It won’t stop until the West divorces the Middle East.

I notice that same-sex marriage is legal in Brazil, yet:

A report the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights released on Wednesday indicates anti-LGBT violence claimed the lives of at least 594 people in the Western Hemisphere between Jan. 1, 2013, and March 31 of this year.

More than half of these reported deaths during this 15-month period took place in Brazil. These include an 8-year-old boy in the state of Rio de Janeiro who was allegedly killed by his father in February because he was “unable to accept his homosexuality.”

I note also that, per your map, homosexual acts are legal in Russia. Putin himself has stated that he believes in equal rights for homosexuals. Contrary to that, anti-gay violence is rampant and vicious in Russia, and Putin pushed through laws that basically make it illegal to talk about homosexuality in Russia unless you are equating it to pedophilia.

My observations are not to excuse the inhumane theocracies of the Middle East, but to point out that the “8th century backward thinking” that some people use to justify homophobic violence is not rooted in one region or religion.

The Soviet Constitution, in the days of Stalin, was almost equal to our own in the rights it set out for its citizens.

There’s the law, and there’s life.
