Last night I went to see the new Spider-Man, which received great reviews and was nearly dumbfounded after sitting through an almost juvenile and yet completely moronic plot that I found myself simultaneously making excuses for since nearly all new movies I’ve seen recently have been complete shit.
I look at the market and am enticed by numbers that are lower than say 1 month ago, but at the same time hate everything about it.
I view my health as excellent and feel fortunate to have never taken a COVID exam, testament to my hermit status. But at the same time look around and see the world losing control of normal thinking and behavior and feel dreadful about it.
If it’s not one thing dividing people it is another and I wonder “what’s the point. Why even try?”
Vaccine or not, like it or not, nothing will ever be the same. There are those who will continue to live their lives and adapting to policies which they feel provide them with a layer of safety and others who will do none of it. Both sides will continue to ridicule one another and feel superior based on ideas of impending doom and the specter of something great about to happen that will teach everyone a lesson.
Toxic and horrible thinking, a way of life that is less about living and more about vindictiveness.
It’s wonderful to see markets higher today. God knows we need a respite. But it’s very hard to not view rallies as reflex reactions in the face of economic friction. There is friction every place you look and it’s almost common knowledge now that the Fed is the vital lynchpin keeping us all dependent upon them, to prevent us from, diving into the abyss.
