Desperate situation in China now and elsewhere if things go against us. How many intensive care beds could there be in a city that size? Can they do a thousand intubations and life support? How many ICU beds does NYC have?

Also: China’s “socialism” is strangely similar to the US’s “capitalism” with a lot of wealth disparity that the governement only enhances through it’s corporate-1st economic policies.
There will ALWAYS be wealth disparity. This is why Socialism/Communism is a LIE. It promises all will be equal and treated the same. Rubbish. There will ALWAYS be the haves, and have nots in society; Capitalism in a Democracy provides the have-nots with a hope of reaching it, Socialism assures that only a few elite will. This is why so many billionaires love socialism – they want no competition
Well, there will also always be murder, yet we have laws against that.
Also, in *true* socialism, there would not be econmic disparity. However, as you realize, there is no way we’d ever ahve true socialism among humans in any population of any significant size.
However, true capitalism is also just a pipe dream. What we have now in the US is NOT capitalism. Just look at the financial crisis. Banks were bailed out, homeowners were foreclosed on. **Some** wealth disparity is good, but we are well past that limit. The vast majority of the US agrees with me, and Trump, Bernie, and Warren are all attempts to fix it:
“Drain the swamp”
“Tax the rich”
“MAGA”
“A system that works great for the wealthy, but not the middle class”
etc.
