Reminder: The Fed is Easing

Lots of rhetoric being flung around by rookies. The economy sucks and Trump is a goner and doom is cool.

WRONG.

You know what’s cool? Making 17% over the summer is cool.

This is what you need to remember, when going thru market squalls like this.

Downside pin-action is temporary. Given enough time, stocks will rebound and do fine. In this particular market, we have the Fed already cutting rates, attempting to get AHEAD of the curve. This is unique and not bearish for stocks.

What to do next?

When shit gets hard, I like to eat a sandwich, except for when shit is fucked up at House Fly. For example, this morning I was awoken to liquid dog shit all over my steps. That was nice. I had to steam clean them first thing in the morning at 6:30am. After that I was so disgusted, I went back to sleep. Do you know why I did that?

BECAUSE I CAN. That’s why children. Some people enjoy to punch clocks and work long hours for little to no pay. I prefer to get paid a fuckload of money while napping.

Back to the serious matter of stocks.

Buy them.

Good to see you made enough money to ease the cost of moving. I clean up after my family each and every day. It is better than stepping in it.

What does well when interest rates fall? Stocks and Treasury bonds
What does well when the FED does QE? Stocks and Treasury bonds
What does well when we hit a recession? Treasury bonds

    TLT FTW

In other news, MU, ROKU, TLT up, HYG, XLF down: 5 thumbs up. Looking to short AMZN, hping for an entry at $1744.

Also, made some dough on an undisclosed TSLA option position expiring tomorrow.. However, I call a spade a spade: this was not skill, but pure luck. Infact, luck paired with ignornace because I didn’t even know they were announcing sales today. If I had, I would have invested in a postion at least two weeks out. Well, that counters my bad luck with NFLX in Q1.

The only head scratcher is FXI. It didn’t plunge with SPY, so not sure why it is up 1%. Ironically, my best guess:
70th Annivesary of Communism rule -> big celebrations -> optimism in China -> bullish invesor sentiment in China -> rising stocks.

For those that buy unpaired options, I think FXI puts bought near today’s close will be a good bet.

Yeah, that’ll do it. My dog loves lamb chops. My wife gives me a hard time when I give him them but the dog is #1 in the house so every so often, I treat him like a king…and I get to steam the liquid shit out of the carpet each and every time.

I’ll say this: with ETrade, Ameritrade, and Schwab all giving commision free trades, a small bankroll is no longer an obstacle to day-trading. This means that Fly’s services should be that much more valuable for anybody that hasn’t been trading prior to the last bear market (mid-2007).

    Just remember: stick to either:
    1) “market” trades with highly liquid stocks/ETFS for fast execution
    2) “limit” trades with others (such as Fly’s recent addiction to micro caps) to avoid gettign eaten on bid-ask spreads

        I’m not increasing my trading:

Also, “taking the other side” is rather vague. Are you going long XLF? Short TLT? Long HYG?

Don’t be shy… unless of course you rather not name your trades because you don’t have any confidence in them.
