I shouldn’t be upset because stocks are going higher again, but I am. I have this issue reconciling what I see and what I think is going to happen — and it vexes me. There are so many unnatural things transpiring in the market now and yet equity prices don’t seem to give a fuck. I remember not too long ago, the idea that China could slow down registered 10.0 shockwaves throughout markets, as investors cowered in fear that the global growth narrative would be upended. Now we purposely try to destroy the Chinese economy and it’s no big deal.
I remember when the Fed was held in high esteem and were viewed as the resource of last resort, the fuckers who came in and saved the day when the chips were down. Now we purposely try to destroy them and minimize their role as an active player in stabilizing markets. Equity prices just keep going higher, in spite of good news, indifferent, or bad.
Presidential impeachment?
No fucking problem. I got +200 on the Dow for that.
Oh, the economy is slowing.
No fucking problem, Joey. Let me jack the stock market higher by 450 for that.
One of your bellwethers missed earnings and cried on the conference call.
Fughetiboutit. I got 700 points on the Dow for that.
Alien invasion and NYC has been wiped off that map? Take it easy.
I got 923 points for you and your troubles.
This market is making people stupid.
UPDATE: More Repo fuckery.

Beautiful phone call and best economy in world history. And if you’d have funded the wall Nancy, the aliens wouldn’t have wiped out NYC.
Dont fret Le Fly! I personally enjoy the macro outlook ytou provide from time to time and try to glean gems from IBC and your experience. Im sure it will all eventually become clear toi you in which direction you will steer the ship as you preside over a glass of cool sweet tea and take a siesta under your southern weepin willow…..if you have time for that!
You have the AMG package on that benz??? If so, payin that 10K bill is a no brainer. Otherwise you need to be pushin a ford EDGE like myself! Hahahhaaa
The fact that nothing makes sense; makes perfect sense. There is no legal requirement for it to make sense. In fact, there is a law that requires any financial statement to be changed, omitted or fabricated; but only if it involves national security.
And what company, statistic, … does not involve national security?
Nothing will make sense until market forces are permitted to reassert themselves. Currently that’s nowhere on the horizon.

Correction: Nothing will make any sense until market forces reassert themselves. Mother Market needs no permission.
I’m guessing you’re not a fan of today’s flag-draped deep-stater circle jerk.
been saying it since 2009.
Stock market is the last policy tool they have.
We will become Japan where CB buys the market outright and not through proxy or some BS PPT intervention to make it look like there is natural price discovery.
Bernanke laid out the play book many years ago in a speech in Ohio, before the Financial Crisis, and there are still a few options left.
dragun, that does seem like the next move after they take Bonds to 0%.
However, all actions have consequences (also note that it really isn’t wokring in Japan because it has been decades sicne the Nikkei hit an ATH). By avoiding price discovery, this just further serves to increase wealth inequlity. That in turn leads to societal unstability (unless you have an authoritarian governement, in which case the game can go on a little longer).
Trump, Warren, and Sanders did/are running on populist paltforms agisnt this inequaility, and so did Obama to a lesser extent.
i agree on your Japan view .. not so much on the platforms the candidates have/will run on. Its all “A Crock A Shit Now” .. to play on the classic Apocolypse Now.
Freedoms are being infringed upon via incrementalism. Corporations rule the roost ie corp fascism .. this environment is not capitalism, nor is the market. Equality will simply grow.
\As for an authoritarian regime .. look at how they have militarized the police.
Dont get me wrong .. I am all for capital markets/capitalism .. just level the playing filed. The day they allowed GS to move to commercial bank status and the protection of the Fed, is the day this was lost.
We socialize losses and privatize gains. /rant
I read the transcript, and was moved too much by it. I read the whistleblower report – and that’s a different story. Here is the direct link:
https://intelligence.house.gov/uploadedfiles/20190812_-_whistleblower_complaint_unclass.pdf
Trump kool-aid drinker will focus on the alleghetions made by former Ukraine Prosecutor General Lutshenko on page 5. These people are idiots, blinded by loyalty to Trump. The reason I’m calling them idiots should be obvious to any intelligent person that reads the whole document. However, if any Trump fan wants to try and defend those allgehtions, I will be glad to publicly humiliate them. Otherwise, save your pride and just give me a thumbs down to satisfy your ego.
are your multiple spelling errors of allegations some inside joke that went over my head?
Ouch, that hurts! Studies have founf that most people understand written/typed comments with signifcatn erros and hardly notice them, but since you are having so much trouble, I will work on my normally xsellant speeling and tiping skilz.
Anyway, it looks like you were the only one to get offended because you were too dumb to read the footnotes on the same page where Lutshenko recanted his accusations.
Coup II.
So basically what you’re saying is: ‘I read the actual conversation and saw nothing; I read the accusation and was blown away’.
Wow! Talk about drinking Kool-aid.
I’ll explain my pPoV in a manner that Trump supporters can understand, but then I’m off this subject.
The conversation most defintely shows bad judgement and unPresidentail behavior, but that is par fro DJT, and not conlcusive enough **on its own** for Republican Senators to impeach Trump (ie, for him to lsoe significant public support)
However, the whistleblower compalint demosntartes that the conversation was just the culmination in a series of events. IMO, that is enough froTrump to be impeached, and the reposnse (dead silence) from Republican Senators illustrates the huge hole that Trump has put himself in.
Assumming that the **multiple 1st-hand witnesses** evntualyl testify before Congress to confirm what they told the whisleblower, the the best case scenario for Republicans is that Trump gets impeached so that they actaully have a chance at winning the 2020 Presidential election (with a differnt candidate)
It’s only 9 pages, written in simple langauge that even Trump supporters can understand and I even provided the direct link to the orginal. You should read it before commenting on it.
I’ve read them all. Just a continuation of the Russian hoax led by leftists deep in State, DoJ and CIA who can’t abide a common man, who doesn’t play the global go-along-to-get-along bullshit, in the presidency. Simply a political instrument, and at it’s base a total nothingburger, but that doesn’t stop you from eating it whole.
I encourage you to read the fired Ukrainian general prosecutor’s (who was a lifer and not a political appointee) sworn testimony in a related Austrian legal proceeding. See John Solomon’s Hill piece.
There’s nothing wrong with the conversation. Trump is right to want to get to the bottom of this crap. You apparently don’t care that it goes on as long as you approve of the general political direction it’s executors undertake.
Conservatives really stretched the definition of a “common man,” so that now it encomapsses a New York buinessman that inhertied his 1% level wealth. His crude positions on social issues may match some white, blue-collar males’ views, but Wall Street Democrats recognize one of their own instantly:
“You’re in a box because you’re a Democrat and you’re thinking, ‘I want to help the party, but (Warren)’s going to hurt me, so I’m going to help President Trump,'” said a senior private equity executive https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/26/wall-street-democratic-donors-may-back-trump-if-warren-is-nominated.html
Conservative Justices usually vote in favor of religious organizations, and that is what Trump voters want. Do you think it is a coincidence that those same Justices also vote in favor of increasing corporate power and against the “common man” on almost every decision they make?
