Affliction Strikes at the Core of House Fly

I was having a good time, up until the moment my trading account went awry. I am now a LOSER of 8 of my last 10 trades — a losing streak unseen at House Fly in a long time. The losses are small, 4% here, 2% there — but they’re adding up. On top of that, I was long SOXS into today and could not sell it while it was up and now I am fucked, having sold it out for a loss.

Loss upon loss upon loss.

After the bell, my mechanic called me up to tell me bad news. My Benz repair will cost an astounding $10,000. This is, of course, good news for my stocks, since there seems to be a direct correlation between home maladies and mechanical failures and my stock winship.

For the day, I licked my wounds, bought a few stocks and fell down a defeated man — downtrodden and sullen from the beatings Mother Market has doled out so severely.

Will I recover?

Tune in tomorrow for the next chapter in this fucking melancholy saga.

fancy car, fancy price. I’m never buying new again, can’t stand the dealerships and riggermarole or whatever it is they offer.

I treat the new car buying experience as a game and I tell the salesmen just that. “You want to extract as much money from me as you can and I want to pay as close to zero as I can. You’re a fuck face at my mercy because I can go to any other dealer to buy your brand of car and you have to sit here all day and hope people like me come in here to buy one of your shitty cars. Now give me that fucking car for free you asshole!”

That’s my opening statement after shaking their hand.

I spent a few weeks in southern France and was surprised to see several Mercedes parked alongside the road with tickets on the windows. I figured it was French mechanics working on German cars. But, I’m hearing of ongoing problems with them…manufacturing problems. It’s odd that a good quality production line develops quality problems; they changed something and it wasn’t proved in. In my opinion you should find a different brand cause if production issues have gone on this long they’re not going to improve quickly.

I have two Audis and I love them. They are my third and fourth I’ve had and never had any issues with the brand. Best cars by far I’ve ever driven and I’ve owned Infiniti, BMW, Acura, Volvo, Jeep, Dodge, Lexus, Honda and Nissan. I will never touch a Mercedes.

$10K. Jesus. My neighbour had $7k worth of work done on his diesel under warranty, and now he has to do it again on his own dime. German cars are over engineered and under built.

How many times do I have to tell you to buy a Tesla?
You can afford any model and they only have about 20 moving parts which means hardly any repairs if at all. Probably cost much less than that POS ICE you have and much less to operate.

You don’t ever really own a Tesla. Tesla retains the right to modify the software at will, and the “owner” doesn’t. They can limit the top speed, limit the range (which they do for lower end models), or any number of other things. Some people see this as a “feature”, others as a “bug”.

That being said, I could understand owning oen with the right incentives/reabates, btu woudl never own the stock.
