Changed My Mind…Booked the Gains

I sold $TVIX +5.7%, $TZA +2%, $FAZ +6%, $DRIP +28% — because AAPL is up and semis are up and stocks are trying to climb. So I asked myself, ‘would I buy these fuckers now?’ Since the answer was no, I sold them.

With a part of the proceeds, I went long semis — via SOXL.

Pros back from vacation. Whether the market closes above or below 2800 could dteremine the trend for the year. Will it be:

    1) Market up, Treasuries up a little, or
    2) Market down, Treasures up a lot

A not uncommon first day break down in /nq would bring it about 60 further down today …to the 7150 area …and through the 200 day sma.

I’ve been trading SOXL and DRIP for a while now. I think DRIP has a potential to go higher as SOXL can go a bit lower…

Ok EU elections are over and it is a big mess. Smart investors are actually going into Australian bonds vs US Bonds more this past month…with nobody wanting Italian Bonds after League won, lol. Bunds and Gilts have people hiding in them too even with the Brexit and now Merkle mess that Europe could be facing. And OMG what Bear Fun it will be if Weber gets the EU top spot. Anyway…all the media is focused on is China. Even if Trump caves in on everything and gives him a puppy on top of that, China really really doesn’t want a deal cuz they have to slow their economy. So no deal. Yawn.

Cars were quede up 3 deep at Costco yesterday. I don’t think it really means much this time of year and I am actually feeling better about the market. I am starting to intuit that there is only so much Trump can do to “wrack” the markets. He’s not in control.

So with all of the global longterm bond yields dropping, we have this perfect storm of liquidity drying up because no bank wants to lend on a inversion. BoJ seems tapped out for Arrows and China is saying screw you world to stimulus spending in a massive way. Fly may I have our Ark now??

Smart. Either Trump will fold to the Chinese and agree to a watered down trade agreement, or the Fed will lower rates. Either way, the market won’t fall too much further.

Water. He doesn’t know what he is doing. I am counting on checks and balances in this arena. I believe they are there for us.

Over a decade ago, we bantered about the S&P low of 666 on this site. A rather peculiar number, but I’m sure it was coincidence. Now here we stand, staring from atop the potential precipice that overlooks the future. I’m not in the mood to be long here, so I will make this short. Lock and load.
