I don’t want to hear anything about Amazon being in a ‘bear market’ — or how the market really reversed today and let us down. I don’t want to hear shit — because crude is soaring and that’s all you need to know. Imagine yourself to be a complete idiot, not so much different from your present form. You’re trying your hand at stocks and desperately need an edge.
ENTER CRUDE.
Crude will show you the promise land. The market is fixated on it, believe me.
As for me, I am sure you’ve all been so fucking concerned with my state of affairs. I see you left 5 god damned messages on my pervious post. I’m guessing all there is to this god forsaken site has already been extracted and neatly placed in Exodus. Over there, we have a grand old time, belly-flopping into pools of penny stocks that double over night. It begs the question — should I ever bother to keep writing here? That last sentence is more important than you think — and I’m sure some of you absolute apes missed it and glossed over it as more Fly nonsense.
I’ve tried my hand at just about all forms of creative writing since I started iBC. I’ve been ribose, distinguished, kind, mean, political, comedic, melancholy — and now I’m being mature. This blog has exceeded its utility and has graced the internets with thousands of hours of laughter and insightful commentary. However, I am pressed for time and would like to dedicate myself to a life of leisure, spending time by the fire with a brandy — reading a good book.
I just got done reading East of Eden and it took my a while to finish — because I read 3-4 books at a time. Let me tell you, Steinbeck is a master and an unbelievable story teller. What a magnificent piece of art. His prose isn’t exactly my favorite. For that I still prefer F. Scott — but I’ve never read a book as grande and thoroughly perfect as East of Eden.
Currently, I am reading The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman. I suggest you do the same.
Markets are sweeping gently into the bell. It was a fine week and you need to stop panicking. Crude is up, after all.

Fly, I’ve been starting to watch old movies from the 1950’s and 1960’s. Any you recommend I watch?
I recently saw “The Giant Claw” and my life will never be the same.
Bogart: Maltese Falcon
Welles: Citizen Kane
Grant: His Girl Friday
Hitchcock: Vertigo
Hitchcock/Grant: North by Northwest (1959)
Hitchcock Rear Window
Wait Until Dark
Deliverance (1972)
Mutiny on the Bounty (Brando)
If you like the 50s, maybe dip into 40s for film noir.
There many enduring classics. Off the top of my head
Out Of The Past
Detour
Too Late For Tears
Kansas City Confidential
I Wake Up Screaming
The Dark Corner (with Lucille Ball)
Kiss Me Deadly (with Cloris Leachman)
…and about 50 more.
The
speaking of pennies my DRNE has made a Double Moonshot for the month today. Life is good sometimes.
Relax. Get a bag of chips and a bottle of 1811 Chateau d’Yquem. May the best team win. Cheers.
Fly,
While your presence woudl be missed, yours is a (usually) thankless job. While professional Fund Manager buy ETFs for the masses and take 25% of the profit for the privelege, you dole out advice in a most entertaining manner for free.
Particulalrly in the age of the MIllenial, where things are *expected* to be free (but not free of complaints), I understand why you’d want to quit. However, I also know why you march forward.
Consider this, if not for this blog, who would you tell
“Look At How Much Better I Am — Richer Than You”?
Anyway, have a good weekend.
PS FED’s balance sheet shrunk by $10B this week -> autopliot
You and Brwocaw have a disturbing tendency generalize by generation. You wouldn’t do that by race, would you? Judge the individual by the content of their character.
Every intelligent creature on the planet takes in infromation, and then uses that to inform future decsions. That is the literally the basis of intelligence. Memory of observatiosn is critical to proper functioning of the mind. (This is also why I draw an important discticntion between knowledge and intelligence. Just about every 6-year knows their own name, yet just about every intelligent person does not the know the name of every 6 year old. This is a lack of knowledge. )
So through personal interactions – as well as observations through media, etc, I have inferred several sterotypes about Millenail, Boomers, and Gen-X’s that I use to judge how one of that group would think or react **given no other inforamtion about that indivdual**. I thne adjust my views when I get more inforamtion about that indivdual.
So if I write/say, “Millenials expect things to be free,” I implicitly mean “Based on my observations, the typical Millenail is much more likely than the typical non-Millenial to expect that they shoudl not have to explicitly pay for certian services or goods.”
Hope that clears things up.
And I would have never heard of the rainbow rapper Teknashi 6ix9ine if it wasn’t for you, Fly.
Don’t shut it down yet, Fly. I’ve been reading your commentary since I graduated from college in ’06. You’re always good for a laugh, and a good stock pick every once and a while. You would be missed on the interwebs.
Thank you Le Fly! If making human kind better is just, you should bother. Coming from someone that reads zero books at a time, this post inspires me to do so, for instance.
$USCR mothafuckas
Thanks for the blog Fly. I’ve thought about doing a blog, not that it would have been the quality of this one, but decided that it would be too much work. I get it.
What ever you decide, thank you. It’s been a great ride.
If you don’t continue this blog, where are we going to get this kinda shit:
“Imagine yourself to be a complete idiot, not so much different from your present form.”
Besides, you wouldn’t be as good a trader without it!
Better idea;
compile a BOOK from all your years of blogging. Call it “Reminiscence of a Stock God”
Say it aint so! Im living my mothers dream and it is so boring. God dammit
Would you like some cheese?
Do. Or do not.
Brother Flea — best always brah! Been a god damn pleasure! You are one talented mofo writer not to mention master of trading, and both in his own inimitable style.
Should you shut down this-here blog, it just may force me to join Exodust. 😀 😛 😮 -)
Fly, No one said it was going to be easy! They just said it was going too be worth!
Damn, sand frac companies have literally been shorted into the ground. Wonder who is on that side of the trade?
One a week should do it you need the outlet
Monsieur Le Fly… if you are indeed from Brooklyn or the Bronx, introduce yourself to contemporary American literary excellence via Don Delillo’s NY-centric ‘Underworld’. It would be a good way to grow as a writer and extend your own damn style.
