This was easily the greatest and biggest short squeeze in recent history. Almost everyone thought stocks would get hammered after a Trump win, myself included. It just goes to show you how utterly useless conventional think is when investing.
Many bank stocks are up an astounding 20% over the past two days — based on a bullish fervor in regards to a removal of regulatory hurdles.
Bear in mind, the premise of this rally seems to be predicated on the notion that status quo will not only persist, but that big business will do ever better under a Trump administration.
Everyone wins if the economy grows faster than the recently prescribed 1.5%. But nothing has changed yet, except the fact that the CEO of America is a person who is uniquely equipped to help the country grow again.
Nevertheless, in order to make an omlette, you have to break a few eggs. This entire rally is going to be revoked in due course. It’s just awfully hard to do so ahead of National Feast Day.
