Neither atheists nor members of any religion have a monopoly on immorality. It’s all over the place and does not depend on one’s religion or lack thereof. Just as there are moral people in every religion and also many moral atheists.
You two see no distinction between American morals and the Chinese? How about the North Koreans? Nothing? Nothing exceptional about American honor and fair play. It’s a myth, huh? You two lost?
There is no morality in atheism. Look at nature, there is no right or wrong only survival and procreation. Certainly the west is not perfect but can you think of a non-Christian culture that you would want to live in?

The Christian Right propaganda is quite false. Many quite moral and civilized people are not interested in religion.
In fact, a case can be made that fundamentalist religious people are the most murderous and immoral people of all.
I used to think just like you. Look at it a little bit with an open mind. Europe’s culture is still Christian even if the population does not go to church. They have still inherited their morality from their forefathers.
I would agree with you that often you find moral people outside of church as opposed to those that attend. That doesn’t’ negate the gospel. Read Tim Keller’s “The Reason for God,” that will help you understand.
