No one knows why the futures are lower. Don’t be silly. It’s quite ridiculous to go from +10 to -10, without a morsel of news. But then again, the very dumbest people on the face of the planet trade S&P futures. I’d be surprised to learn that any of these people understand the faintest thing about markets and know how to eat with utensils–savage animals devouring hero sandwiches for lunch.
My cable is down today, for reasons that defy logic. But do not fear, Le Fly (as he is popularly known in France) shall watch the carnage, courtesy of back up hot spot device. Always have a back up, contingency plan, in the event things do no go “swimmingly.”
As for me, I don’t expect my largest position, AREX, to move much today. Most of Americans are buried under the snow, desperate to get a little warmth near their radiators. I have a few others things, irons in the fire so to say, but mainly positioned for this pullback–25% cash.
Let the carnage begin and, as always, I look forward to buying your margin liquidations.
Observation: It seems the market topped when Maria Bartiroma (sp?) left CNBC. Odd no?

switched to 90% cash in Oct to concentrate on range trading IPOs. Sold out of my FPRX in Jan near 21 level – thank god. Also sold out of my XLRN in Jan – although that is holding up. Been basically intraday otherwise. Has worked out nicely – lady luck. Still long FGP – COLD winter and that divy. Also recently long CLMT near 29 – that 1/31 9% divy and the very good news posted only afterhours leaves me positive – may or may not hold it post ex – proly will. Sold my LVS – 2 day hold – after-hours yesterday for small gain. Earnings today – but why gamble. I’ll be concentrating on upcoming pipelines that have not gone ex div yet – to either capture and sell or hold for the 60 days to drive down the cap gains tax. hoping for a larger correction and then will work on my buying list. did nibble at GEO but no real conviction to strongly recommend. ex in a couple of weeks. caught FB just before market close. just had that gut feeling they would beat again. and just sold below 58.75. and man I would have kept LVS if someone hadn’t have bought mine afterhours yesterday. good day. and with N Florida in a state of panic and emergency with a hint of ice on the roads, I get to sit home and trade all day again tomorrow. life is good, until it isn’t. 🙂
