LEVERAGED INTO WAR

I find myself, amusingly enough, 125% long into World War III, or as future generations will refer to it as ‘WW3’.

I find it rather apropos that the first US President to have ever received a Nobel Peace Prize, prior to doing anything in office, should preside over such a thing. But it was inevitable, after all, as all ‘good’ things come to an end.

I am sure if Russia decides to defend its only port in the Mediterranean, by rebuffing a US led assault on Syria, stocks will trade down 1-2,000 points. No one likes the onset of war. It scares people. But once the public gets accustomed to it, as was the case with all US wars, stocks will rise again.

The bigger the war, the bigger the rally: that’s what my grandfather used to say.

So you must be asking yourself: if war is really on the horizon, why is this maniac long by 125%?

Well, the answer is two fold.

I like to win, and do with style. In this sense, I am servant to fashion.

The second reason is a lot more primitive, almost carnal. I aim to seize upon any advantage that comes my way. In this case, The PPT gifted me with oversold signals that I haven’t seen in years. In this case, I am a slave to discipline.

Don’t fret, small plebs, I will liquidate into strength and reduce my exposure to a more pedestrian level soon enough. Until then, I remain, ostensibly, very, very long.

Russia is just bluffing and bargaining, as always. It never defended Gadafi, Milosevic, Hussein.

Also, I could be wrong, but I believe they have already abandoned their naval base in Syria.

Putin will not back down if given the chance. He will absolutely respond if Syria is attacked because looking weak is the last thing he is willing to do.

Obama has put ships in harm’s-way knowing full well Syria has the capability to sink one.

Interestingly enough it’s just before the budget battle. Get your war bonds, finance the government’s operation because they would rather go to war than stop the spending, and they need the distraction for the economic decline. Plus they figure, unemployment among the youth? Just send them to be slaughtered in war and there’s no problem… at least until they realize there is no one left to finance the unfunded liabilities, and the demographics will only be further distorted.

Putin is not going to do a thing. Iraq proved that. He may do pull a publicity stunt or two to save face, but he’s not going to step in front of a train.

He wants to sleep at night, like the rest of us.

Great commentary from Michael Savage. Much more intelligent sounding than the “other” outspoken Savage…

Putin has already shut up. He knows who’s the man. I would be surprised if Syria, or Iran, for that matter, because that’s the real game, lifts a finger other than to dial the office of the Secretary General of the UN. One false move and any weapon program they care about goes poof! Putin knows better than to fuck with Obama. Barry, as you all know, has vaporized everyone who has stepped in his way. He comes draped in fig leaves, but he carpetbombs anyone who opposes him.

They’re already pulling Russians out of the country. What can he do? Will he shoot at an American warship or plane? Or even a drone? This is one situation, it seems to me, in which an escalation works in the US/Israeli/Saudi favor. Also seems like there’s a serious negotiation underway. Russia will get something in return for letting go of Syria. This is all theatre. The Russians can do nothing to save Syria.

Ultimately, this is not about Syria. This is about getting at Iran–and Obama has said pretty seriously that it won’t let Iran off the hook. You have to credit this administration for setting this up in such a way that the narrative is not the US is attacking Iran.

What’s truly strange, however, about this clusterfuck, is that Israel does not want Assad out. On the other hand, if indeed it does, then it seems like a calculated risk that you get Assad, Hezbollah and the Iranian bomb all in one go.

This story is just beginning, it seems to me. Obama has proven his peace credentials by not throwing military assets at relatively useless plays. Now he might have the opportunity to prove his war mettle–and what better chance to do it than smacking down a dude who just gassed people in Syria’s version of Alexandria, VA???

One other point: The tell is this: Netanyahu is keeping his mouth shut. Do you think he would if none of this was planned or anything was happening that didn’t work in his favor. The fix is in. If I had to put money where my mouth is, I say the war is coming. Either there’s a deal with Russia or there isn’t. The Jordanians, the Saudis are ready to go. And for fuck’s sake, even the French are signed on…

Obama screwed up when he said use of chemical weapons would be a trigger for US involvement. He probably never thought it would come to that. Now he thinks he has to back up those words.

FDR can thank WWII for pulling us out of a the Depression.
Jefferson can thank the Barbary Coast War for a booming ship industry.
Madison can thank the War of 1812 for a Silver Boom.
Zack Taylor (Old Rough and Ready) can thank the Mexican War for the SW US.
McKinley can thank the Spanish-American War (1898) for a boom in cigars and rum.
We can thank Grover Cleveland for wiping out the Apaches so we can get increased casino revenue today.
And a TY to JFK,LBJ for Vietnam so we can now buy cheap clothes.
Yessir. War has been good for the economy and stocks.

Correction, this would be World War 4 … WW1 is otherwise known as The Seven Years War http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Years%27_War

“The Seven Years’ War was a world war that took place between 1754 and 1763 with the main conflict being in the seven-year period 1756–1763. It involved most of the great powers of the time and affected Europe, North America, Central America, the West African coast, India, and the Philippines.”

off point, beautiful delayed reaction from the weed pennies on headline news about Feds not suing to undo State marijuana laws. As if that is news. News didn’t post to any of the tickers which I assume counted for the huge delayed reaction. Made a quick 40% on MJNA from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30. Actually cancelled my order after no real move as i ad an appointment – and thought it was cancelled – but sometimes those pennies take a half hour to confirm. Came back and my buy had gone through without my knowledge and was up huge. Good to be lucky (and ignorant sometimes).

This is all ridiculous. The best way to handle this is to let the Syrian gov’t and rebels grind each other down to nothing. Knock out the gov’t and you have another hardcore Muslim replacement. Help them kill each other, but do it from afar!

Israel has already done what the US is about to do and there was no retribution.

In fact they’ve done it twice.

Israel would benefit from this supposed action, too, because it degrades their enemies armaments some more and buys additional time to deal with bugs in their dome – because, surely, the day will be soon when they get 1000 missiles coming in simultaneously
