Yesterday the bears paraded through the streets of Wall, clad in burlap hoodies, florescent pink pants, made from velcro– topped off with plastic helmets. They were a vicious group, making bold statements in stentorian tones, atop large hills and grassy knolls.
Today, the mood changed, despite Spain, despite Greece, and they were muted.
I do not declare victory, for it’s just one singular trading day. After all, I was down a staggering 4% yesterday and I am plus 3% today, for a net loss of 1% since Friday. Over the past 7 days, I am up a petty 11% (I am certain the majority of you are up more), clearly a man who should be bet against and in size. Even though I haven’t endured a down year since 2001, successfully navigated through all sorts of disastrous markets, and because I am only +8% for the year, my opinions are merely happenstance, a nuisance of sorts who should be relegated to the outer reaches of the interwebs–undeserving of grandiose balls and midnight dinner parties.
I am just a simple man, traveling through time, in machines built in an era not from now, inking my superfluous thoughts for others to contemplate and discard as “comedic folly.” There will be down days, but with a little luck and generosity from the Gods, most will be up. I err by letting the opinions of others mean anything; but I too am victim to the emotion of anger. I get mad at a drop of a hat, fixed on doing bodily harm to numerous people across the globe. I’ve even went so far as to build a Space Orbital Cannon (OSC), now in phase 3 development, strictly to be used for offensive means. What can I say? Sometimes I am human.
In short, this is not a victory lap, for the run has only begun. Instead, it is a reminder of how grande your idiocy is, embarrassing and stifling on many levels. Please refrain from offering any form of financial advice in the future, as it might hurt someone who intently needs money.
Thank you and farewell.

Thoughts on $znga, sir FLY?
Stupid stock, but selling is morbidly overdone
I take it you have a big short position? Me too, it will come right large in July.
You are going to need someone to operate and monitor the cannon. Is R. W. Pelican(o) still around?
Spell check must be down.
Well said fly,
Good summary,
I like you.
I ended the day +3.45%.

HuggieBear commenting to PoPimp! I am at the nexus of the universe.

If only ‘Bullish’ responded then I would know I were in heaven….or hell?
Tough to call
Huggy! What happened to your avatar (Antonio Fargas)?
Everyone loses – except for the Fly, who merely pretends to lose to lull his opponents into a false state of security.
I can’t imagine your mood swings over the last 2 weeks, but holy fuck, what grit.
thx
Fly,
The YELP chart is firming up http://goo.gl/cH1RQ . ZNGA, however, kind of puts a damper today. I am hoping YELP is not just supported by fume viz the GOOG rumor.

Do you mean “Everyone Loses” as in no matter what happens in the markets these days, we all somehow lose? Or, do you mean, “Everyone Loses,” as in sometimes we all experience losing, which many trolls here never want to admit. Or, do you mean, “Everyone Loses,” as in, yesterday the bulls lost and today the bears lost?
I will leave it up to your mind to wonder about what I truly meant, which is the best part of reading.
>yesterday the bulls lost and today the bears lost?
and the pigs got slaughtered
if we are, in fact, in a deflationary vortex, what do you see as the inflection / catalyst for the market to begin truly reflecting that?
surely the easing will continue, if not grow stronger, to fight it…if it is RUN-AWAY-VORTEX DEFLATION, and as ben says, we have not reached ESCAPE VELOCITY. rates will always be low and lending / easing will be bountiful. personally, I think deflation has to get very serious before the market starts to reflect it
collapsing yields (TLT spike), higher UUP as scarcity of dollars presents itself and reduction in all asset prices.
This is the #1 enemy of central banks, an outlier chance.
yet we have seen a collapse in yields, I guess -10% in SPY did prove it was somewhat meaningful, but by no means reflective of destruction in asset classes.
agreed on scarcity of dollars. the process would require prices everywhere to fall and corp margins to be squeezed. I dont think earnings are reflecting such things.
tip of the hat, sir. back to my croissant.
I do think we’ve seen a collapse in yields. After all, they are record lows and negative in many countries.
All we need now is full fledged drops in basic materials to confirm.
The only way we go full mode deflation vortex is a Lehman event, something that cannot be controlled or contained. A massive destruction of capital.
I do think it will happen but it will be several years before it does, and the Dow will be inflated to 32K by then.
EUR collapse will do it. The FED is already at 2 trillion and still we have deflation. The only way you can deleverage a credit bubble is by saving and less borrowing / spending.. that is deflationary. More Debt to finance bad debt is not a solution I read Greece’s total debt is more like 2 Trillion if you figure all liabilities and US is like 50T. These are the facts and can not be washed over. Need to look at another one of those 1927 charts again.. they had a big run up before the big crash. Its like the emperor;s new clothes. but can the market run up more yes..but there are no answers for these issues. Cheap unending supply of money is what got us here. Buckle up its gonna be a bumpy ride.

Excellent choice in music.
The composer was Sibelius. He made this song for his 50th birthday, which is also a national holiday in Finland.
Stretching the link opportunity past breaking point… is the NOK dead, or will the MSFT relationship save the Fins from total despair?
