I AM BOX WATCHING

After giving up all the days gains, the market is being resilient, punching holes in the faces of bears again. Still, Spain was +3.9% today and we’re struggling to hold 0.5%.

Right now I have been reduced to “box watcher,” complainer of all things to do with stocks and bonds. I find myself wasting time, talking to people about “how stupid” this market is, only because it is not behaving in the manner of a top hatted gentleman. Truth be told, I’ve made a fantastic living managing money. It has afforded me with much needed currency and freedom to make my own schedule. Looking at my behavior objectively, I find myself to be sinful, ingratitude on a biblical scale.

There are people out there making 10 bucks an hour and I am complaining about the superfluities of my gagillionaire clients, whose unparalleled greed makes them pester me for more wins?

PFFFFFF.

That’s life, pal. Get over it.

YELP needs to trade the fuck higher and fast. The idea of this stock closing down on an up day is hateful to me. As you can tell, Le Fly is somewhat preoccupied with mental anguish. All roads lead to violence and that’s a bad thing, I think?!

Okay, I’ve wasting far too much time with you mustached weirdos today, pornography collectors, infants stuck in old/fat bodies.

Back to box watching.

YELP is currently behaving like that creepy guy at a party looking surly while sipping on a strong drink loitering and leering with his teeth clenched as EVERYONE is partying.

Give the market a time to rest, did you see that BoE (bank of england) didn’t give out any cocaine last night. China CPI data comes out tonight, and with the price of Hogs falling off a cliff, it should come in a lot weaker. At that Point all the Junkies will say “Hey China, where is my cocaine”..and China Govt will say Screw You..and we aren’t buying your Europe Debt either. Fun Downtrending market that maybe, FINALLY, no central banker will bother to try and fix.

Good post. Things to think about.

Someone commented recently that YELP is “a stock for insane people.” It could easily close down on an up day and then rocket up the next day. Not very predictable in the short run, although in the long run they ought to do great because they have such demand for their services, being so wildly popular.

Gratitude is something to think about for all of us. Even the poorest one of us on the board apparently has discretionary income that can be risked in the markets, rather than having to struggle the way a huge number of folks do in the current economy.

My perspective on gratitude is not that we are bad and sinners when we are ungrateful. Instead, I think when we are not grateful, we are missing out on opportunities to fully enjoy what we have, in our gratitude for it. Gratitude goes along with passionate enjoyment, and awe at our good fortune– with everything– nature, friends, family etc., not just with money.

    Senor Tropicana,
Look closer at their revenue stream. I think they could have problems. The whole system is all about reviews and companies get them whether they pay them or not.
I depend on good comments from Google, Yelp, yahoo for business. I buy gold and silver so you know the kind of rep guys like I have to fight. In my experience, Yelp is a horrible company to deal with. Don’t get me wrong, I use the site for restaurant reviews but I pay them $325.00 a month to increase my exposure. What do I get for the money? A slide show and the removal of other competitors off my site. That’s it. The results have been really really disappointing. If other shops realize you get nothing for your money, their model to bring in revenue is a gigantic failure. As aside, I have a bogus review on my site that I cannot get rid of. Yelp filters one time reviewers but somehow this one has slipped thru. Yelp is hurting me more than helping. My two cents.

But you hate them and still pay $325 per mo.

      YELP is a winner.

I don’t trust the Yelp reviews. They are subject to manipulation.

Stuck with them. 6 month was the minimum deal. At the time I had 8 decent reviews, then their filtering system wiped out all but 2 of them. Money not well spent. Their promise that my click rate would go up is a farce. 3 months to go. I will not renew.

The market is in meat grinder mode. The guy making $10/hr will probably net more today than a trader. Grrr.

I’ve been viewing this YELP chart as a descending wedge, but it could be a channel. We’ll find out soon:
