THROW THEM INTO THE FIRE

If you don’t have the decency inside of you to know right from wrong, I will be your moral compass.

Most young people are so self enamored they are unable to understand what life is all about. Sometimes these young people grow old on the outside; but on the inside, they are still children.

Anyone defending Joe Paterno, the 84 year old cocksucker who didn’t want to inconvenience himself with child rape a decade ago, should be arrested and executed with the degenerate bastard who abused those kids. There are no free passes. This is not a parking violation or some accidental burglary by one of your best friends. I have zero tolerance with abuses against women, children, the disabled and the elderly. The very basic function of being a strong person is to defend others who aren’t able to.

I am sick of all of the weakness that permeates this society. I see men destroying their families because they wanted to bang a hooker or have an affair with a hamburger. The core problem with people is they lack honor and dignity. They sit around the fucking teevee all day watching sports, wasting their lives without ever enjoying the finer things in life.

Instead of watching some loser sitcom, read Don Quioxte. Are you interested in expanding your dog brains beyond Mad Magazine? Go read Tolstoy.

I didn’t enjoy today’s rally because silver traded lower. However, I timed my NFLX sale perfectly and saved myself almost 5 points by doing so. With half of the NFLX proceeds, I bought LULU, down about .75 from purchase. Compared to what I saved in NFLX, I did good.

With the rest of the NFLX money, I intend to buy more DK and EXK next week.

I hope this is really a horrid rumor but I have been hearing that the pervert asst. coach may have pimped some of the kids out to major donors to PSU. I hope this is just that rumor. It is disgusting enough. And Yes Paterno should have been fired and Pennsylania law is absurd. You don’t have to report this kind of abuse to the police. Dumb bastards. There is Philly and Pittsburgh and in between there is Alabama and Mississippi.

My daughter attends Penn State now. Not a good scene there and won’t be for a long long time, if ever.

I fear that we will soon learn about things that will take the horror of this episode to a whole new level.

The school’s THON charity raised several million $ per year for Pediatric Cancer research. Some of you may see the students canning on weekends a few times a year in your neighborhoods raising money for this cause. Another example of how innocent children will be hurt by this fucking animal and the assholes who protected him. They will have trouble raising the same kind of money.

My daughter is actually planning on volunteering for Second Mile to help them get back on their feet.

While some students are rioting because their beloved coach was tossed out like the garbage he is, there are many others that are concerned for their school and want to do things to help.

“The very basic function of being a strong person is to defend others who aren’t able to.”

So very true. The worst part is there aren’t enough people who think similarly and make their opinions known. This sort of behavior needs to be driven to the fringe then stamped out.

Monsieur – you did WELL, and hence your performance was GOOD. You conduct yourself with HONOUR (no sic in the King’s english).

Your espoused values have enormous worth. I am heartened that one so youthful (not yet 47-1/2yrs) holds such timeless standards not founded in some religious dogma.

Religions have a lot to say about how people should behave in society. They mythology regarding creation and such is just pre-scientific story telling, and a separate topic from living moral lives. Moral= of or related to good or bad conduct.

Quioxte is the best play I ever saw at the Ashland Shakesphere Festival(go figure) – been going for 20+ years and haven’t seen anything close except maybe A Midsummer’s Night Dream when they changed the setting and scenery to modern day San Francisco and depicted Oberon and Titania as being real “fairies” in a dntn nightclub – a close second.

Thanks for the post Fly – I was feeling like the only one that was pissed about the actions of the State students last night.

The people in the media are disgraceful. They don’t care about ruining another man’s reputation – they will stretch and distort the facts in order to create a headline. This story is nothing without Joe Pa’s name, think about it.

You don’t garner that kind of respect and prestige in life without doing the “right” things. It is a shame that a man like that does not get the benefit of the doubt. None of you shmucks really know what the extent of Joe P’s awareness was so don’t act like everything is a fact. Apparently nobody wants to see the good in people these days.

Obviously, if he did know then I’m in agreeance with the rest of you.

Obviously, he knew enough that the Board of Trustees took the horrifyingly unthinkable move of firing his guilty ass.

Think back two months ago… ask yourself — “How many cheerleaders would JoePa have to savagely murder in order for Penn State to seek his resignation?”

Likely you’d have answered “at least double digits.”

Very well put. If you have any decency in yourself, please read this article. And to you losers who knock sports as if you are above all other mortals – commitment, sacrifice, hard work, trust, overcoming adversity, respect are all things that can be learned when participating in a team sport. Can’t say the same for reading a book on risk management. And, coaching (teaching) kids is extremely admirable in my book.

Some snippets that hit the nail on the head:

But I have seen some things in the last few days that have felt rotten, utterly wrong — a piling on that goes even beyond excessive, a dancing on the grave that makes me ill. Joe Paterno has lived a whole life. He has improved the lives of countless people. I know — I’ve talked to hundreds of them. Almost every day I walk by the library that he and his wife, Sue, built. I walk by the religious center that tries to bring people together, and his name is on the list of major donors. I hear the stories, the countless stories, of the kindnesses that came naturally to him, of the way he stuck with people in their worst moments, of the belief he had that everybody could do a little bit better — as a football player, as a student, as a human being. I’m not going to tell you these stories now, because you can’t hear them. Nobody can hear them in the howling.

But I will say that I am sickened, absolutely sickened, that some of those people whose lives were fundamentally inspired and galvanized by Joe Paterno have not stepped forward to stand up for him this week, have stood back and allowed him to be painted as an inhuman monster who was only interested in his legacy, even at the cost of the most heinous crimes against children imaginable.

          Shame on them.

And why? I’ll tell you my opinion: Because they were afraid.

We are in a top-you world where everyone is not only trying to report something faster but is also trying to report something ANGRIER. One guy wants Joe Paterno to resign, the next wants him to be fired, the next wants him to be fired this minute, the next wants him to be fired and arrested, the next wants him to be fired, arrested and jailed, on and on, until we’ve lost sight of who actually committed the crimes here.

Many young people are indeed dumb and naive and have misplaced loyalties. That’s how our government has gotten them to fight so many wars– and some to be injured or die in them– just for the enrichment of the military industrial complex.

That’s why W.C. Fields said “There’s a sucker born every minute.” And it takes at least a few decades after those suckers are born for them to learn how to stop being suckers– if they ever do learn.

I don’t watch the teevee, but the tidbits of the JoePa story I’ve heard, I agree. Joe had to go. Forgetting the moral issues for a moment, “What were ya thinkin Joe?” or better, WTF were ya thinkin?

You did not cause the problem, but it was put on your doorstep. It will never go away by itself and in fact will get worse with delay. For stupidity alone he should be fired.
Sadly, the US & most western nations spend more than they produce. It doesn’t work forever. The US & western civ. as we know it will JoePa itself. The only unknown is when.

Rant: certainly a good post, as is the standard, but sayings like “best ever”, “it’s all good”. I agree with it 100%, but it’s not the best ever. And in general, it’s not all good.

Genetics has a part in this. A very long family history begins to show patterns. Amongst many good traits, certain of my family suffer a tinge of cleptomania. Whereby if family is coming we feel inclined to put small items out of view. People covet stuff and they can’t understand it’s not their property. And we have one old bastard relative who decided it was appropriate to hang is pecker and balls out at the pool for all the 11-13 year old girls to admire. Borderline pedophile was hidden for years until that incident. We also have a 63 yrs old meany who can show no empathy and shed tears only once in his life so far. We have a big family but these types are there. Interesting eh?

Of course Pateno fell short of his moral obligation. What should be obvious to anyone with any sense of proportion is that the full measure of a person who’s had the career and impact on the scale of Paterno’s can’t be drawn in such black and white terms. All the arm chair moralists who’ve never been in a remotely similar situation are lining up to see who can be the holiest of the holy in judging Paterno with perfect 20/20 hindsight from their pinhole perspectives. Fly’s just another one of those tiny tough guys.

There is no excuse for what Paterno did, except to a complete moron, and no amount of football championships or accolades can excuse it (except to a moron perhaps). It’s not “20/20 hindsight” it’s basic instinctual morality that any decent person should have. How could a person allow innocent young boys to be destroyed? It doesn’t take a genius or someone with an ethics degree to determine that that was wrong! In most states, it’s illegal to not report an abuser (and for good reason).

And that’s the problem with your perfect little hindsight analysis. Everyone reads the bullet codified report with a tidy timeline and gruesome details. They automatically assume what they would have done without the imagination of actually having been in that situation. Never said child abuse was OK, never said Paterno’s moral obligation failure was OK. Just tired of seeing all the perfect armchair moralists rage on without having any conception of all the other factors leading to a very poor judgement call. Would love to see this much rage go towards all the failed elected leaders whose failed judgments lead to horrific deaths. But sure, keep deluding yourselves about how easy it would have been if it were you.

The only time bastards like this, or any others like Fly made reference to, shed a tear, is when they get caught, or in the case of the hookers get some STD/STI. Otherwise business as usual. sad but true.

friend of mine got caught banging his rock climbing instructor, balled his eyes out when he got caught.

    Story gets better.

Gets together with her, move in, she gets pregnant. He leaves her 1 week before due date!!

Needless to say, no longer friends with this guy, and he on the run and refuses to pay support to her and the child.

    A real piece of work.

Most of you clowns are full of crap.

Politically correct newspeople like Christine Brennan, Mike Lupica,
Maureen Dowd, Herbstreit and Willie Geist are all over Joe Paterno’s case, saying he should have resigned immediately (when was that?) and personally “gone to the legal authorities” as soon as he heard about
allegations from one of his assistant coaches, rather than inform his boss.

These journalist PUKES all say “Read the Grand Jury report and you will agree that Paterno’s dismissal was correct.

I call BULL on this! I have READ the Grand Jury report and in no way does it implicate Joe! See for yourself!

    http://cbschicago.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/sandusky-grand-jury-presentment.pdf

Joes’ firing by the Penn State trustees (By telephone no less, asking Joe to call a number – where the person said “You have been terminated” -was an ABOMINATION meant to cover the rears of the Trustees, who probably have known about this for years, AND WERE PART OF THE COVERUP.

Joe would have been totally out of line going to the police on his own,
based on hearsay. He did the right thing. The Scum Trustees were too gutless to
even give a reason personally to Joe (and even publicly), for Joe’s dismissal.

These CEO pigs and pukes are the ones who should be pilloried by the media. And the scumbucket politically correct “journalists” should lose ALL creditabiliy.

Joe should enter the stadium on Saturday accompanied by hundreds of his student supporters, and thumb his nose at the media. Too bad he has chosen not to attend.

IMHO, not so easy…Northern Italy doesn’t want the retirement age lowered and they let Silvio go over that…will be interesting day.

    Hey “RIGGEDGAME”…

Answer me this…Why did Sandusky retire in 99? I mean, guy was at the top of his profession, 55 years old, right? You really think it was because he wasn’t going to take over head coach? And why is that? Maybe, because Jo Pa didn’t want this guy around the program.

AND, if you believe he wasn’t going to get the head coach job, why didn’t he go on to coach elsewhere? I mean, with his credentials and success at UPeen, he was employable, wasn’t he?

The answer is he was shown the door by Jo Pa because he knew Sandusky was a predator after the 98 incident. Jo Pa knew for a long time Sandusky was a preadator and didn’t do a fucking thing until he had to, and only then did the bare minimum to not disgrace the “football program”…

BTW, he was fired by telephone to avoid the damn ruckus on campus that would have ensued watching him march out of the trustees office in tears. The illiterate student body would have torched the place…..

On another note…Yesterday FLY wrote about his Dad. Made me think of mine as well. I lost him when I was 16 in a tragic car accident. I mention this because he never said a bad word about anyone. EVER. I remember watching football with him, and for some reason, he never liked Paterno. It was funny to me because I never could understand why. He told me there was something about the guy he didn’t trust…this was in the late 70’s too….

This is the same feeling I’m getting…there was nobody closer to Sandusky than Paterno. He is supposed to be the heir to Paterno then suddenly decides to “retire” at 55? It’s like: “hey, Jer…we know you’re a fucking sick motherfucker, so…you can’t coach anymore…but here’s a pension and full access to anything you want on campus.”

Usually I can get “traumatic” news out of my system in a couple of days, but I just want to keep throwing up in my mouth when I think about this shit.

    Dr. Fly,

We started publishing Mad in the spring of 1952, and while not pretending to approach the level of Tolstoy, we’d like to think we encouraged millions of youngsters to read and think.

Over 400 issues later, we are still on the forefront of parody and humour. We parodied Joe DiMaggio and Michael Jacson when they were alive. In their heyday.

We’ve published over 72 paperbacks and a 12 year running television show under the Mad logo in addition to the monthly magazine.

On December 1, 1955 Rosa Parks stopped at a newsstand in Montgomery, Alabama on her way home from work. While riding on the poorly-lit bus, she is unable to read her copy of MAD #26 from her usual back row seat. Moving to the front, Parks begins laughing so loudly that the bus driver orders her to knock it off. Parks refuses. Soon the entire Civil Rights movement is born — another great moment in MAD’s proud history.

Dr. Fly, we do our best month in, month out to entertain your children and inspire them to read and expand their mind. Countless millions of youngsters since 1952.

What’s weird is McQueary, the man who witnessed the attack is a huge man with a barrel chest and a tree trunk sized neck. He could have easily knocked Sandusky on his ass right on the spot. Since he didn’t, that means that there is a culture of corruption at PSU. Because if a grown man runs to his father confused about what to do means that that kind of shit was common knowledge and don’t rock the boat or else.
